2 Weeks from now? Hmmmmm okay that will definitely be something to look forward to haha.

Good shit man! I will be looking forward to your journal! That chem dog is going to be gnarly!
Give or take, keep those picture coming so we can track the height taper. Do you track height? Good thing to get in the habit of, helps me understand the cycle of a particular strian for when I grow it again, know what to expect right :). Learning by doing is best, just think how much she`ll change again in the next month :blsmoke:

Ill keep em coming. I do track height of the entire plant..is that what you are referring to? I will measure again during lunch to give you a better idea of whats shes at right now. I use Herb-IQ to keep track of height.

I know man im gonna be amazed at what I see in a month :)

I just measured her and she is about almost 5 feet from the soil to the top of the cola (without the bend). These were taken a few minutes ago before the lights shut off for the night in about an hour.

All looks good caddy, might see some stem thickening happening to come. DEFINITELY going to need a 5-6 ft bamboo shoot or equivilant as those are going to pack on some weight. Give the plant some sort of support. Excellent cropping job I must say as well, now if only 4 weeks sooner :-P

Yup got bamboo shoots already sitting outside the tent waiting for this big nugs :). What would you recommend the next bend should be? Pretty soon its going to start reaching the top again...should my next bend be at A or B? I hope u can see the letters and arrows in the picture.

I would actually try to flex up the stem a bit before your first training area so you can give it a bit of a bow and then tie your `A `to the opposite side of the flexed tie. Should be able to work the stem gently back and fourth to where it will be bendable, tie at say 6 O`Clock on your bucket and then tie you `A `down to the 12 O`Clock of the bucket. Sorry about how terrible that`s described, wish I had some Paint files on hand for demonstration, but essentially you`ll be looking for half way down the plant for the flex bend. Should see response within 2-4 days :). Hit me back if you have any questions mate

I think I get what you are saying. Something like this?

If so, the only thing im worried about is the stem being too thick for the bend at "A". What do you think?

Also, Should I be trimming excess leaves that don't have bud sites?
View attachment 2579732
You should be trimming both the bottom most sets of leaves. Both parts, should be clean up to the third node for nice airflow. The plant will work harder diverting energy to the top of the plant instead of leveling out the deficiencies, as you can see in the most recent picture you posted (yellowing).

Otherwise don`t stress the `A`breaking, you want to hear the snapping of the tissues, but it should spring back within a few days. Following the training in a twister-esque fashion will allow prompt better airflow and stem structure for you as well. Looks cool to boot. That should keep your light level set for now, stretching will persist soon anyways. Keep us posted,

Your gonna have to even that canopy if you have any hope for weight, screen and tlc... I would add silica to your reg if not already in their (PRoTekt) Those stems and eaves are gonna need as much suppoet as they can get. I might even add a Silica foliar in addition to the bi weekly feedings. This really was fucked from jumpstreet, In the future start your seeds in seed starting potting soil to avoid frying the little babies with the foxfarm which is notoriously HOT! 40% Happy frog Mixed with ffof and heavy perlite for ALOT of aeration seems like it would work.Dont ransplant from the seed starting soil until your seedlings are at their 3-4 node and asking for nutes, Believe me they are in that FFOF you wont need supplemental feeds for 3-4 weeks nothing but water. Finish this one out and move right on to the next. Maybe a PK boost would help if applied properly You have a PPM pen right? If not you might wanna stay away from the solubles till you do. At this point concentrating on getting that canopy or as many budsites as you can at the same elevation so you make the most you can out of that light. Get the light as close as you can while maintaing temps 12" or so If you have t5 in there still it is always a safe bet that blue spectrum at the beginning stages of bloom help to control stretch and she sure does seem like shes reaching, GL I hope any of this has helped-S0uP

Have you ever grown a Sativa like Super Silver Haze? It`s a stalk boss, not a bush, no canopy can be realistically produced unless the plant has been trained from the beginning. We`ve been over this earlier in the thread ...

Otherwise, nice job Caddy, keep it coming :)

Ugh, just nutrient rubish at this point in flower. Maybe the PK boost, but call me minimalistic, all the other stuff is just a waste. My hydro applications are the only one that run more than 2 nutrients at any given time. Soil, it`s organic, feed IT, not the plant friend. Not trying to battle here, just saying that considering the stage of growth, currently, most of the advice was way overblown mate, he wants specific advice, not a grow from start to finish in one condensed paragraph. Just my 2

Oh yes, thickness will ensue in the next 2 weeks. Can`t wait to see them buds start swelling here pretty soon. Done a great job Caddy considering the strain and your experience, keep it up. This is the fun times :)

P.S. You may want to begin getting the plant support ready as well, over the next three weeks those branches will be almost twice as heavy, will need some lovin`

Hahha thanks KC you are a great help. I was thinking I can tie some coarse yarn to the poles on the ceiling of the tent and attach them to the heavy buds individually. You think that will work?

KushCanuck

Well-Known Member
Perhaps ... :). What I would recommend is tie all of your shoots to the main at about halfway of each shoot, then you can later reinforce the main with bamboo, PVC structure, etc. to provide support when you need it most. The initial ties should give some short-term strength and will allow the main to be solidified better down the road. Always happy to help a fellow Super Silver grower :blsmoke:

KC, I had a question which I should be thinking about soon here. What method for harvesting/curing/drying do you prefer when you harvested your SSH? When its time, I think im planning on cutting the branches and trimming excess leaves around the buds and clean them up before they are hung upside down in a dark room. After that I'll remove the buds individually from the branches and store them in mason jars. Every couple of weeks I will crack open the mason jar for the moisture to release.

Does this sound okay or what would you suggest?
