Nicely done. I used to be very skeptical of harvesting at a specific time during the photo period (after darkness) or after a full 24 hours. I used to think it was just all "bro-science" until I read some peer reviewed scientific research publications that changed my mind. I'm flexible that way. Lol
The basic reason is because plants cannot make sugar or other carbohydrates at night because photosynthesis does not take place in darkness. So plants evolved to deal with this little issue by creating a reserve of carbohydrates during the day for use at night to keep from starving. At night they release an enzyme that releases the stored starch and converts it back to sugar to feed on as it requires, and CO2 only is released by "burning" it via respiration much like we do. By morning the plants have used about 90% on average of these reserves. Over another 12 hours of darkness, not only have the other 10% been used up, but the plant begins to starve. Those starch reserves represent a small but significant amount of biomass. Getting rid of it will likely slightly increase cannabanoid levels because they are less diluted by starches or sugars that you don't have to smoke. This paper is an interesting read:
