Hi guys, curious if you think these trichs look ready or not. It’s now been 11 weeks since flip.

I'd say you can take them today, or in a few days depending on your tastes. Keep in mind that full plant harvesting is always a compromise. Those top level colas can be 110% ready while lower down on the same stems the buds will still have clear. Unless you're going for a staggered harvest, you'll need to look in the middle if you haven't already.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. I’ll have to decide on harvesting the top half, or just all at once. I don’t Want a couch lock feel, or too many amber trichs. All these pics are of various heights on the plants.

Cut them down after 24hrs darkness. Cut off the big fan leaves and they’re hanging in the grow room. Humidity is at 52% right now. I’ll monitor it as it dries. Looking good for this organic grow so far, smells amazing. Imagine it’s over a pound.. 73C817AE-33AF-46A8-B9B7-1BA6963FDE7A.jpegADBB9222-9EAB-4FEA-8A96-E67EF2D3D123.jpeg2A04FB3B-F977-43AE-B638-B930529166E4.jpeg347C9EA5-11B5-4667-B80A-AE43D43343BD.jpegDD8C1953-636C-4F4F-BFD6-4F47526907E3.jpeg4E1E4B56-2740-4825-BC68-BD9EDCD9B169.jpegB84449AC-BE6D-48DA-B051-3D90896FC152.jpegC0609774-552C-457D-9DAB-DAD6F1D2D0C3.png

Nicely done. I used to be very skeptical of harvesting at a specific time during the photo period (after darkness) or after a full 24 hours. I used to think it was just all "bro-science" until I read some peer reviewed scientific research publications that changed my mind. I'm flexible that way. Lol

The basic reason is because plants cannot make sugar or other carbohydrates at night because photosynthesis does not take place in darkness. So plants evolved to deal with this little issue by creating a reserve of carbohydrates during the day for use at night to keep from starving. At night they release an enzyme that releases the stored starch and converts it back to sugar to feed on as it requires, and CO2 only is released by "burning" it via respiration much like we do. By morning the plants have used about 90% on average of these reserves. Over another 12 hours of darkness, not only have the other 10% been used up, but the plant begins to starve. Those starch reserves represent a small but significant amount of biomass. Getting rid of it will likely slightly increase cannabanoid levels because they are less diluted by starches or sugars that you don't have to smoke. This paper is an interesting read: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4379750/

Nice thread just found it. Going to start mixing mine this week. I have prilled dolomite lime and prilled organic pro mix 4-4-8. You think that’s ok to use? Also have the rock dust and kelp meal. Cheers.

Thanks man, honestly first organic run for me so I didn’t even use any dolomite lime. Oyster shell flower and rock dusts were in the Gaia Green and seemed to work great. I did add kelp however multiple times throughout the grow in the waterings, and while I was “cooking” the soil at the beginning once.

My mix was mentioned at the beginning of this thread, and got things going with liquid kelp, mycorrhizae and molasses in water. Seemed to work awesome. Will never go back to liquid nutes I don’t think... or any other medium!

Mixing the next batch of soil tmrw (same setup) for my next grow coming shortly. I will dump the current root balls in the 6.3gal fabric pots into a storage bin, add some worm castings and compost, with a bit of lava rock, Gaia Green 4-4-4. Let that cook and add the water with liquid kelp, mycorrhizae and molasses to start things again for the grow in roughly 4 months.

Good thing about organics is recycled medium that gets better and better! Good luck!

I'm surprised it's your first try with organic growing. Usually it doesn't turn out so well for the first timers, me included. Lol
Yeah no doubt. This is the third grow for me in total, but first organic. Should be close to, or done drying tmrw as that’s 8 days and the small branches are close to snapping. Humidity has been 52% the whole time.

hope I can get the dry trimming done tmrw and see what the yield is!

New member here. I just read your complete thread. WOW! Awesome results. Can’t wait to hear what your yield is. Great pictures and info. I have truly appreciated reading yours and everyone else’s comments, along the way.

Nice! After a bit it is supposed to smell good like a forest floor after it rains. If it smells bad like ammonia or puke it’s gone anaerobic... don’t want that.
