I moved my rez outside. But its with half inch tubing and uses barb fittings. The flow rate is so slow.
Well i have regular grommets, uniseals, and bulkheads coming i think i may try this 1/2 bulkhead with bushing that is female threaded so incan attach the male threaded to barb adapter. I can put the shutoff in the middle. Would you raise the control or have it higherMy setup uses grommets and I do have slight leaks. But I'm guessing you'll probably use the aquarium silicone along with grommets if you went that route. Even the leaks that I get are really easy to fix. Only happens when I mess with the barbs
I already told you what to useSorry its confusing to me

Or is something better...
The system il trying is a 5gallon bucket res ontop of a 5 gallon control bucket. Control bucket connect to res with a float valve and gravity. Control bucket to dwc same height no pumps
The res and control are outside the tent
1/2"is just a very very slow flow. 3/4" is much more advisable. Even 1" if you want. But this is all correct on the top list of items. You'll still need a 3/4" hydroflow TEE. Also your grommets in the pic here are WRONG. THEAE ONES are what you NEEED:Sorry its confusing to me

Ok thank you. Is there a reason it would matter flow wise since ita gravity fed. It doesnt take all day to fill about 10 to 15 minutes1/2"is just a very very slow flow. 3/4" is much more advisable. Just curious
Ima be doing an RDWC for my next grow with 1 1/2 inch pvc drain lines and 1/2 inch pex feed linesBigger is better when it comes to gravity fed lines
Just use 2" if you're gonna go to 1.5". 2inch is 4 times the space of 1inch. 1.5 is only 2.5x. Just use 2.Ima be doing an RDWC for my next grow with 1 1/2 inch pvc drain lines and 1/2 inch pex feed lines
It's too late now haha. Ive already ordered the 1.5 stuff already... I'll upsize if I have to. Only going to run with about 60 gallons. Two 27 gal totes with a 5 gal bucket on the outside for me to add everything to. SOG StyleJust use 2" if you're gonna go to 1.5". 2inch is 4 times the space of 1inch. 1.5 is only 2.5x. Just use 2.
People are so afraid of them but they work perfectly if you just do it right. And yes, the pipes are SO hard to get through those things... I had to use some watered down dish soap to aid in the task.I’m using 10 2” uniseals on 5 tubs with no problem. I was scared of leaks and even used and prepped with marine sealant. Sealant was a waste, I just about stroked out putting the pipes threw the seals. They are working great, there is only one uniseal and nothing else will work like it, bulk heads are expensive when you need 10, glad the seals worked. View attachment 4548486
Black tubing is for BARBED FITTINGS DUDE. bulkheads are made for PVC. I tried to tell you this. ugh...Well i had another grommet laying around now i plan on using bulkheads and the new stuff but i wanted to see what i did wrong.
1st when i drilled the holes i never deburred cleaned them. That was my fault so the grommets couldnt sit flush regardless.
2nd i attempted to make the holes as low as i could. What I realized is that the bucket is relatively flat with minor curves until sbout the last 3 inches frol the bottom. Then not only are they curved horizontally but they dip inwards towsrd the bottom at a steeper curve. I took the grommet i had snd came up about 1/2 an inch from where i cut before (above the w in lowes] deburred it put the grommet in and just slide the 1/2 tube in (no barb) i can move the tube around and it does not leak. Lesson learned i guess.
But ill wait until i get the bulkheads and black tubing.
