How do you keep the h2o you add to make the slurry from having effect on the reading?

My advice would be to make sure your seed starter soil is not too hot. I’m unfamiliar with those soils but I’m sure you’ve looked into it.
I had a problem with this while growing the blueberry strain. Switched to promix seed starter instead of promix 3 month and they grew great.
Like someone else said my tap water with flora nova works without worrying about ph. This may not work for your water.
I use the general hydro ph drops kit its about 10 dollars. Just to check my water every now and then. I have a Hanna ph meter but can’t be bothered to use it.

In this case, close is good enough. Recall that we're adding water to the soil continuously anyway. A slurry presents the same conditions, and subsequently pH, as when we water to runoff.

House humidity is 48%, there is a small 6000 btu AC in grow room, it keeps room at 68 Fahrenheit. House thermostat also set to 68. Yr round thats our house temp anywhere but sub basement.
soil grows only here, not a fan of hydro weed

Cancelled the Ocean Forest....will be using straight up Happy Frog adding extra perlite.
Exactly the meters I started with. I upgraded to a BlueLab pH pen, but I'm still using my TDS pen years later. They are inexpensive and decent quality,

Ordered a t5 flourescent grow stand to put seedlings under, and a heated grow pad for underneath the clear plastic cups of soil.....
just need soil , SMART 5 gallon pots, and clear cups now. Not ordering that till days before the grow

I see you mentioned clear plastic cups, I have seen quite a few good growers recommending against using the clear cups unless using a second cup outside.
Roots don't like light. Some guys use the clear cups and place them inside the red or blue cups for this reason.
Also to add, I am 7/7 with germinating and starting seeds in FFOF , I have seen so many people rag on it for being too hot, I have not seen those issues yet. Personally I think it's great lol

I've read that, about Ocean Harvest. Its PH is a bit high, naturally.
I figure that Happy Frog is more neutral, I plan on keeping things simple. And not shock the plants. But your good luck inspires all new indoor growers, Diggs.
And the root revealing clear cups inside of a colored plastic cup is a great idea!

In my experience, FFOF, and FFHF are at PH 6....sometimes less out of the bag....not sure what you consider high PH, but 6 is too low for me...I add lime to both FFOF and FFHF, to get the buffering to an acceptable level....I use lots of FF soil.

Just ordered Ph Up, Ph Down, Perlite, and 1.5 cu ft of Earthworm Castings.......and another 6" clip on fan, and a 100 watt cob cree light to add to this first indoor grow. Wife admits she likes me having a hobby, finally...... Don't wanna start seeds under two LEC's from day 1........gotta gettem up to speed a bit first.

Starting to save my coffee grounds, I used them in outdoor grows and I think they can adjust soil PH slightly.

Will be ordering FF Happy Frog, some large perlite soon. My state will be legal in April, with my wife and neighbor I'm waitin till then to bust some seeds out.
Just ordered $900 worth of tent, two 315's CMH with philips 3100k bulbs, timer, exhaust and vent kit.
running some Thai landrace strain/afghani hybrid (Prayer Pupil) and maybe GPS Tomahawk. 4 or 5 plants, top once and LST the PP......the plan is a lb on run #1. hope I get some quality buds.

hey man, not to interject but i have have some experience with fox farms and i am here totell you do not buy that garbage. they are not the same product that earned them a reputation. i don't feel like searching yt for the vid but another person, non cannabis grower, did a season long comparison of both FF and 4 or 5 other soils and both FF soils grown plants were all fucked up. the thing is they were fucked up the same way my plants were same symptoms. i had switched to FF thinking i was upgrading and it took me 3 grows with it and seeing that video to realize it was not me it was the soil. i went to my own ammended soil and wallah perfection. you are better off buying home depot shit and mixing it yourself. now i don't buy bagged soil anymore but if you are going to that is what i would do if you don't have access to a great nursery that sells their own soil or other trusted high end brands. eventually if i were you tho i would get coco or sphagnum i use coco, and then add compost casting and various ammendments like down to earth and make your own mix. because i use a little more than 1/3 coco i don't even use perlite. also avoid perlite in general, rice hulls are better there are a cpl reasons for this but it will eventually float to the top of soil even and won't stay evenly distributed thru out and it just complicates the grow and can cause hard to figure out issues, again i wish i could find the article but trust me on that one lol. there are better options but it's not the end of the world ig.

**oh btw you can order everything for your own mix on amazon with free shipping if you do it right and use coco not moss. that is what i do because i have no sources near me that are good. i order coco, down to earth ammendments like langbeniete, kelp meal, alfalfa meal, neem seed meal, azomite, bokashi and various guanos with differing N-P-K(some high N some high P) castings and compost. you can get all that with no shipping cost and the volume is huge to because the coco comes so compact that it can still be shippped free yet when you prepare it there is a shit ton of it. this is why i use coco as well. otherwise buying the moss or soil would double their price because of shipping size/weight. hmu if you have any questions. idk how hard core you wanna get but i reccomend composting and making your own castings because the ones you buy have little nute value, and while i get you want microbes and that is awesome. it's way better to have casting from diversly and well fed worms. large scale commercial castins are fed like a generic meal and cardboard and shit so you end up with almost no N-P-K from the castings, which is fine if you take that into account when ammending but i rather have nutrient dense castings, it also make more soluble N tea and you want N-P-K in your teas don't buy into it's all about microbes for teas. it is the N-P-K they provide that help, the microbe thing is not proven in the sense you don't need to add them in a healthy soil and it could even overpopulate the medium and throw the microbe balance. you want a microbe homeostasis and not be disrupting it weekly with adding a shit ton of new microbes with no other benefits so make sure you put stuff in your teas that has soluble N-P-K. it will say right on the labels of the down to earth stuff and guano is your best friend in a tea

So far I have bought 2 cu ft of Perlite, and 1.5 cu ft of Earthworm castings........had planned to use 20% Perlite, 20% Earthworm castings and 60% FF Happy Frog.......
I'm open to suggestions for sure.

If it means anything I've never added lime or ph my water and have had great success with straight happy frog in smart pots with 0 additives. Late flower the lime loses its buffering so this time I may mix in 1/2 - 1 tbsp. I add liquid nutrients 2-4 weeks after final transplant depending how big I go , usually from 3 gal to 20 gallon

Will be returning one CMH to home depot. Home Depot discontinued "HydroCrunch" brand the day after I ordered two CMH. So aside from having the extra heat of two CMH in a 4 x 4 I will use one. And will be adding one Timber 2 VL. A 200 watt Timber and one LEC 315 watt CMH should be decent.

TBH I returned BOTH CMH to Home Depot. The very next day I ordered both CMH Home Depot "discontinued" HydroCrunch CMH's......It bothered me a lot so I called HD to ask why. They told me many got returned due to defects, last Saturday I brought both back and got $648 back.
So I'm currently trying to decide what lights to get. So many opinions on so many brands and types. HLG was in the lead until I've read about plant bleaching and burns, cal-mag deficiencies.
Timber Grow 4 VS is an option.........but being I will be growing in my sub basement (its heated but about 60 Fahrenheit always) CMH is probably my best bet. Liking the Phantom vertical so far,

That won't be quite enough so I may add a COBKIT hanging CXB3590k.........My state will be legal very soon (some time in April)....the wife is a pitbull on anything illegal, lol.
So, I'll order lighting in the next 2 weeks. Have CCFL's and a Cob Cree 100 watt grow bulb for the seedlings, and a heated seedling mat already....Tent, charcoal filter, vent/ducting, perlite, worm castings, 3 cu ft of Happy Frog, and 10 grow bags (3 gallons and 7 gallons)
