It is unwise to be too sure of one's own wisdom. It is healthy to be reminded that the strongest might weaken and the wisest might err.

I think the saddest part about it is half these guys don't know the difference between "weather" and "climate"...
Maybe that's why they say the climate is changing when it's just the weather.
The climate is changing, according to 89% of published scientists, 32 international science academies, and the vast majority of climatologists and meteorologists worldwide. I don't see how you can still argue with that.
If it changes too much very bad things happen. Things I don't think you guys have actually really given it's worth in time thinking about. It would be the largest natural disaster in human history, kill millions of people, and cause devastation and damage in the trillions. It would take place over a very long amount of time, decades probably, but it would all be the result of the increasing global temperature.
This issue is primarily a scientific one. Politics should not come into play at all when analyzing scientific data.
Don't most of you guys propose competition anyway? Why such an issue with green competitors in the energy field? Shouldn't we let the markets decide? Why does the gov. come in and restrict or buy out and suspend technologies that could put every single existing oil corporation out of business? Is the entire thing simply because you've been led to believe they're trying to tax the amount of emissions you're emitting? Explain to me how it works, how much are you being taxed as a result of this "global warming/climate change" worldwide conspiracy? What comes out of your paycheck?
Are you saying the science isn't valid? There's no such thing as "the greenhouse effect"? C02 emissions and increased amounts of Carbon in the atmosphere is good for the planet? Do you know what gases mainly make up the atmosphere of Venus? Or are some of you going to say it's because of it's close proximity to the Sun? Well, Mercury, the closest planet has a surface temperature of 420C, Venus stands twice the distance and has a surface temperature of 460C.
So someone please start explaining things..
But this is a politics board. We are discussing the political implications of things right? We're not here to analyze data. I'm not spending time or energy discussing whether man made global warming exists. I'm facinated by how it is playing out politically though.
Funny how they tried to debate the science, in a political thread, until they realized it was a losing battle. Then they pointed out its a politcal thread, get out of here with your science and facts.
