MG Moisture Control soil attracts gnats, fungus gnats more specifically because it almost never has the chance to get dry. Tussel is dead on with his very simple but true cure. Any soil that does not ever completely dry out will always get you your very own collection of gnats.
Sticky traps, spiders too. Whenever I find a spider in my house I catch it and move it to my grow room. If they are really bad and annoying I use a neem oil soak in the soil and a neem spray on the leaves.

Why are you so worried about them? Yeah they are annoying but I've done plenty of grows with them flying around and come out with great buds. They even control their own numbers by flying into the light
I use to put molases in a yellow lid and they would dive right in.
