A newly opened can of beer works well too, lol. I've scared 2 black bears out of my garage over the last few years. One time it was a younger male that looked like it was about ready to take me on, and so I chucked the almost full beer at him and it hit a tree while I was cussing at him, and that scared him off. It usually works just to yell at them in a scary way.

I also see mountain lions here too. I actually saw one eat a neighbors cat right in front of me when I was outside smoking a cig one day. Guess what I went inside and got my gun just to be safe.

I've pulled a gun on a sneaky fox too once who I swear was just trying to scare the shit out of me because I just scared him shortly before that. I almost loaded one in the chamber, but realized it was him, lol. They would mess with my dog too, and steal his toys. One day I let him off his leash since a fox was tormenting him and he found where they took all his shit, and so he brought it all back. Sneaky suckers.

Yeah, I will admit my first impulse when I'm surprised by a bear in my garage is to grab a beer and open it.

The Bull I got this year was @ 325 yds on a dead run going away (he busted me big time!) - don't think I could have hit him with that pistol.
The old 30-06 Ackley comes through again.

On a side note I see my "go to" projectile in the 500 (440 Gr hard cast GC) max load is rolling out @ 1650 fps in a max "Ouch" load.

Yeah that's pretty hot.

And that Ackley is a sweet cartridge. Near WinMag ballistics but with less powder.

Ftx 460 round @2200 fps. Just sayin :-)
I almost bought that big fucking revolver in that 45/70.

I seen a couple years ago they now have it in 460. With no muzzle break still! Lmao. That would be fun.

It was there for the taking - I don't really need it, but its a cool pistol.
BTW, the 460 is making those numbers with projectiles weighing about half what the 500 is throwing - and I've got the 4" barrel model, it's strictly for the "on my back" Big Bear Medicine so bigger slug is much better for breaking large bones.
