Alright, let's see how these look. I like to put up my previous shots next to the new ones so I can get a really good look at my progress from last set of photos. A lot of the fans are really crystally too. That area close to the cola...those fans are just covered. Smells very fruity.

Using the same angle really helps.

Remember this shot...Dec 15.




Here she is today. Not bad for six days.

When I walk into my grow room this is the shot I see first. I'm looking forward to leaving for a few days. Looking at them everyday can really slow down the changes. I was hoping to have three footers when I flipped them at 18". It looks like I'm right at that. They could get a tad taller with the cola's forming but the stretch is done for sure. No new height for a week or two now.

Funny I remember when you 1st got your plants I was thinking how wide open it was and now look at it

I have friends that stack 12 plants in there. 10 seems like a lot to me. I've taken my target off of yield for this first hydro grow. I really just want a nice quality harvest. Next time around I'll be looking at yield for sure.

I'm looking at this clone I put into soil a good 5 week ago. It's not even close to the rockwool in terms of growth.

I had a legitimate bush going after 10 days in rockwool.

First quality, then worry about quantity.............you should copyright that expression :hump:

My first real grow on my own was my outdoor this last season. I don't have it down but I know I can grow them big. My avatar pic was planted in July and hit almost a half P. This with missing half of the season for veg. Where I struggled was the finer details of making it a quality harvest. I got a lot of mold and the herb that was saved on that plant and other plants lacked that smell that makes us all so happy :)

For this grow I'm definately trying to have some really high quality herb. I could have chosen a number of strains but I chose the WW because I just got done growing it outdoors and new a little about its traits.

With that being said I really could have picked any strain cause this is so different in every aspect. A buddy of mine firmly believes in letting the plant fix itself. Well, when you are feeding it light, nutes and Co2 plus climate control...you are pretty much mother fucking nature. It won't fix itself, you have to fix it. Not to mention that 70gal res...it's not like you can just change the way you feed them the next day. Adding nutes is easy. Lowering your PPM you gotta drain the res a little, add some RO water, test...see if it's what you want and so on.

Like I was saying in my first few posts. I can see how Hydro can bury you with time and expenses if you don't stay on things. I litteraly have no fancy sensors. I'm watching my plant, taking very basic readings like PH, PPM and most recently a Co2 test kit and that's it. No $1500 brains...not yet at least :shock:

I need to grow really good herb first. Make no mistake, if I have a good January with business and this harvest looks nice. I'm gonna double up my set up for sure. I might run 4 strains. 5 to 6 plants of each.

SCROG to try and keep my height down.

Do a little bit of research on SCROG before you decide that's the way you wanna go - I was forced into it this harvest (because I flowered too late and needed to put up a net to control height), but the time and effort it takes is a pain in the ass (if done correctly, tying down budsites and whatnot).

Like you (or anyone in an E&F setup), height's an issue for me as well - to remedy this, I'm just gonna grow shorter plants as opposed to LST or SCROG or any other time-consuming activity.

Actually planning to flower 144 plants in my 4x4 tray for my next harvest; should be interesting.

How the hell do you get that many plants into a 4x4 tray?

I flipped mine at 18" and are now 3ft. This is not a tall strain either. I might grow some more indicas and that will help a little. If I topped my topped tops (say that three times) I might have my tops about 6" lower which would make me feel better.

I figured with a scrog that those lower branches that so many cut off could produce some nice nugs. Is that not the case?

No, you're absolutely correct that SCROG turns the whole plant into equal colas, and helps out with the lower bud growth tremendously.

I'm just saying that it's more for a closet or hobby grower, not for a decent-sized operation (because of the time and effort needed to tie down the branches, etc.).

For a decent-sized operation (which I consider 2 4x8 tables to be), something that takes less effort (Like Al B. Fuct's model) would be preferable, IMHO.

I like a system that lets me pop my head in for five minutes every couple of days, check the pH and nutes, rotate a plant or two, and be on my way - SCROG does not let you do this.

And how I fit 144 into a 4x4 tray is going to be an experiment, that's for sure :joint:

Gonna flip them at ~2", and they're going to be in 3.5" square pots with hydroton.........as I said before, it'll be interesting, if nothing else.

Here's a sneak peek at some clones in my 2x4 veg tray in the 3.5" pots.............there's 36 in <4 square feet.........just testing out space needed........

yah, that sure will be interesting man, i've seen 50 in a 4x4 space but it was 12/12 from seed. post the link to that..

There's always an idiot in the fray - generally a low post count, poor grammar/spelling, spouts old wive's tales and other such growing myths, and to borrow the now fairly common term, is a "hater".

They can't do, so they hate.

It's why I'm of the opinion (in the minority, undoubtedly) that there should be a nominal charge when you first sign up - nothing too crazy, but $20 would sure keep A LOT of morons/teenagers/troublemakers off of the site.

Today someone came over who doesn't grow. Guess what he told me. He said I need to put a nail in the stalk to stress the plant so it will produce more.

Geez. They are everywhere aren't they. People with their gimmicks that dont work.

...ha! yea, it's entertaining to listen to some of the things people will say about growing when they have no idea that a REAL grower is laughing his ass of inside while they spew their ignorance!!! :wink:

The guy I get clones from has the best product I've seen. His nugs are terrible though. I was showing him some pics from my grow and he was all fired up.

He tells me to keep them in total darkness for two days before harvest. "I have researched it extensively" he says.

I know what they scientists say. But I still think that falls under Bullsh*t.
