greenleaf megacrop

Megacrop was a bust for me. Using it in hydro with 220 ppm tap water had me chasing a high ph all the way through. The girls didn't like the high ph and showed me some nice yellow leaves before they started dropping leaves. I guess if I kept up with the ph and got used to putting ph down in every 1 or 2 days I could get a decent crop. The Floranova and Dynagro that is growing right beside them look great and the ph stays stable. The lazy part of me says ditch the megacrap. It would probably work much better in RO water or soilless mediums. I will use it on my outdoor crop next summer. I think this is the first time in 30 years that I actually had a rising ph. It must have some kind of buffers in it for RO water or container growing. It works but it ain't easy for me.
That sucks. I use it with my well water once I set the ph it stays close for a while. My well water is around 200 ppm as well. What sort of hydro were you doing? Mine is a 55 gal res connected to 27 gal tubs.
Also when I use it in soil I don’t ph it at all and it works well.

Hopefully it works better for you this spring outdoors.

Bummer it didnt work for you. I have small pH fluctuation up, but it is welcomed since I can pH down to 5.7 or so and it will creep up to 6.2 or so over the next week or more. When it was time to top off the res (tap water @ 110 ppm/6.8ish pH) , I just pH it back to 5.7 and repeat. How much is it fluctuating in what amount of time? Slight pH fluctuations in target zones is good for nutrient uptake for both micro and macros.

Megacrop working good with ro water, I do add some calmag and ppm about 700-800 and the look lush. I sent some buddies to their site and their prices skyrocketed ridiculously from $55 for 22lb to $82! Maybe an error.

I believe the 22lb has been on sale for 55. I guess the $82 is the normal price. Still seems cheap considering how long a 22lb bag will last a home grower. If you do buy a big bag you will need to store it in moisture proof container.

IIRC I believe GLN mentioned that in the new formula, the clumping should be greatly reduced. Still 100% correct on needing to store it in something moisture proof though.

I had the big bag stored in a 5 Gal container out in the garage during the winter. When i opened it moisture was not a issue but it seemed like the powder and the little balls were more separated looking. While think it is ok i try to get half and half ( powder & balls roughly) when weighing. The 5.5lb (2500gr) $ 30 will last a home grower a pretty long time and you don"t have to concern with storage as much.

Mr. Red, I have a new 5.5 lb bag i ordered recently. Have you herd of any other changes in the new formula ?

We added in higher Magnesium amounts, and different forms of Magnesium for better absorption. Also, we significantly increase the P and K, should it will naturally give better results for flowering period without needing any extra products. Also, there are some hidden changes for better solubility, better mixing, and doesn't gain moisture as much during powder form.

If you are interested in lower cost, we have an Instrgram sponsorship program as well as pallet pricing with very low pricing as well!

Just the P/K boost and the Mg boost. I think it was the chelates or something that causes the "clumping". I notice some seperation between the powder and the balls in my older mix, but it usually isnt until Ive taken a bunch of scoops out. Then I just give the container a good shake and its all good again. I'd imagine (though small) that if you get more of one than the other on large mixes that it could make your ppm off from batch to batch. I've personally had no issues since I mix in small batches.

Is everyone just ordering their mg directly through their website? Also has anyone measure their brix while using mg?

Now the 21.7 lb. bag is $95.28 shipped. I knew that would happen it was just a matter of time. Once he got more business he’d jack up the price. Lmao.

Fuck that shit I’m out!
Just out of curiosity what nut line will you replace it with that is cheaper?

Probably go back to buying 5gal buckets of maxibloom on principle alone even though MC is prob still a little cheaper even with the price hike lol.

I never was a big fan of all the addatives in the megacrop, as I think most are unnecessary. Does megacrop work killer, yes! But so does many other nute bases.
I had just as big of yields with just maxibloom as with the MC. I know the maxi series pretty well, been using the shit on and off since it came out.

Thanks for the reply@aero. Why don't you contact them about pallet pricing. Sounds like you use a lot. The MC is still a cheap way for me to grow as a closet grower.
