Dissolves like sugar granules.Just got my bag today, it came pretty fast. This stuff stinks though, hopefully it's like a fine cheese. I notice some pellet like pieces in the mixture, do these dissolve alright?
Just my 2 cents( if wanted). If you are currently running a successful nutrient program i would stick with that thru your current grow. That MC you have will store a long time.Anybody switch to megacrop mid grow and run into problems?
Thank you I do appreciate your 2 cents. just excited to use it. Started it on my veg plants but I was running low on my other ferts for my flowering plants.Just my 2 cents( if wanted). Well that would be a good time in veg. Are you working with the new formula or the old ? I will be using the old the old for a while.Thank you I do appreciate your 2 cents. just excited to use it. Started it on my veg plants but I was running low on my other ferts for my flowering plants.
@king i misread your post( GG4). If it were my grow i would be nervous about switching during flowering. Maybe not that big a deal if you keep a close eye on them.Thank you I do appreciate your 2 cents. just excited to use it. Is that the date that you purchased? 9-6-17Working with the new formula, I believe it's 9-6-17.
Hahaha no that's the npk value. Is that the date that you purchased? 9-6-17
Great keep us posted with any issues with the new formula.Hahaha no that's the npk value.
Well I may have to eat a little crow. Those yellowed self defoliating Megacrop plants turned out to be the biggest yielders and seemed to even have a little more smell. I never would have believed it. The floor around those plants looked like my lawn in the fall, covered in leaves. I guess I'll have to give it another go. There is something about this stuff that is magic lol.Megacrop was a bust for me. Using it in hydro with 220 ppm tap water had me chasing a high ph all the way through. The girls didn't like the high ph and showed me some nice yellow leaves before they started dropping leaves. I guess if I kept up with the ph and got used to putting ph down in every 1 or 2 days I could get a decent crop. The Floranova and Dynagro that is growing right beside them look great and the ph stays stable. The lazy part of me says ditch the megacrap. It would probably work much better in RO water or soilless mediums. I will use it on my outdoor crop next summer. I think this is the first time in 30 years that I actually had a rising ph. It must have some kind of buffers in it for RO water or container growing. It works but it ain't easy for me.
I've switched at week 4 of bloom. Now a little over 2 weeks using mega. I run promix and am running an ec of around 1.4. No issues. I'm also using it on seedlings at an ec of approximately .6. no issues. I hand water 9 plants. I mixed my solution and checked pH. Running 5.8 with ro water. Stabilized in a few days at 6. My Jack's would do about the same. I pH at around 6.3. ymmvAnybody switch to megacrop mid grow and run into problems?
Maybe it's the silica in it that rises ph over time? I usually mix mine and feed right away since I'm in peat, haven't had it sit for more than a day.Well I may have to eat a little crow. Hey,Dissolves like sugar granules.
It works wonderfully in hydro. I use a F&D with 27 gal res, and I keep my mommas in 5 gal water farm drip buckets with no issues. When I mix it, I'll mix the entire feed amount to one gallon of water and shake it up really good. It dissolves like sugar (you can literally see it dissolving in between shakes). After about 30-45 seconds it is like tea, with zero residuals. I'll dump that into the res and give a quick swirl in the res and done. I run a sterile res, and keep a bubbler in the F&D res basically just to keep things moving in between floods. Its been more than ideal for me the last year or longer that I've been using MC. I havent had to alter my methods at all since switching from the GH 3 part nute line. Its never left my res skunky or plugged up any of my equipment. Every month or so, I'll clean the drip rings on the momma buckets to keep them from plugging, but that is routine with any nute line due to the salts. Hope some of this was helpful.Hey,
Do you use megacrop in hydroponics setups like DWC and RDWC? How do you find it works in these setups; and issues? Any changes in techniques or methods you have to make? All the ingredients are a little concerning, potentially.
Thanks.
They are loving it. So much growth after 1 feeding and nice and healthy looking. They just got there second feeding today and where praying shortly after.I bet they do a cartwheel then start to pray in 2 days!
