Hey man, looks great from the short look I've taken. I've been getting ready to do my first vert grow and have one 400 watt MH ballast and one switchable 400 watt ballast. I just started kicking around at least one of the lamps being a CMH because I think I can probably swing a nanolux CMH, however I'm not sure how you hang them vert with the hood built the way it is. Granted, I haven't snooped you thread too close yet, but could you point out how you do it?
Thanks!
I was going to run a 315 CMH and a 400 HPS but got a deal on the second Nanolux but I have a 400W HPS set to sell, LOL
The ballast separates from the light housing on my Nanolux 315W.
When I run horizontal I run the lamp housing with the reflector in side the tent but have the ballast outside the tent.
Ballast outside the tent
When I run vertical I remove the lamp housing and only use a support bracket to attach the chains to hold the lamp vertical.
This pic shows both lamps on, the upper just shut down, the lower is seconds away from shutdown
.
I just set my buddy up with his grow, got him two Phantom II 315W CMH ballast, These are from Growers house, we got ours from my hydro guy as he gives me much better prices,
https://growershouse.com/phantom-ii-cmh-315w-ceramic-metal-halide-digital-ballast-120-240v and two 15 foot cords,
https://growershouse.com/socket-assemblies-with-lamp-cord . This is a much easier way to hang the lamp, but I would still use two chains so you can make two directional changes to center the lamp where you want it.
Counting the lamp, he was in the whole setup for around $225 each.
My Nanolux, both of them were more than that, and I believe that Phantom is a better ballast.
If you have any specific questions, just ask.
