GTs 2009 SoCal outdoor grow

I thought I would post a little on the harvest. Once the plant looks to be ready (trichs and pistils) I start to flush with water and molasses. I have given the plants some molasses for the past month and a half already so they should be sweet.

When I think it's done, I start the harvest by branch starting at the top and working my way through the entire plant. Sometimes some branches take longer than others and they get left on the plant or I get tired/lazy and need some time between trimming sessions. I use to cut branches and trim them green but I have since hung them up to dry for about a week.

Once the outside is dry but the stems still are bendable, I take them to be trimmed. Once trimmed up I put them into glass bottles for the final cure, burping the bottles at least once a day until they are the way I want (sticky and a little moist, not dry but smokable).

I want to thank FDD for his many tutorials and online help desk as well as Hodgegrows, and TLD. Thx to all the many participants of my journal too.

As far as smoke reports I will be posting those in the near future. I have had some good reports from people on the JS series. In the early days I had to cut off some buds prematurely due to bud rot and pillars so that bud was not rated so high (6-7 out of 10 and not much smell [WTF]). Since then, I have receivedgood comments for the slightly cured (1-2 wks) bud even when it's not fully cured. I am going to be testing the HJ soon and that is going to be interesting. Initially a bit airy, it has become denser and more resinous.

Stay tuned :peace:bongsmilie:blsmoke:

Tuned..... :) can't wait for the smoke report, :)
Glad I have been paying attention to the plant and not finish times. The JTR which I thought was going to finish last is looking done. It has that amber hue to the frost covered buds so Im thinking its next. Compare pics 8-10 and 13-15 and you can see the change in color/hue. I can probably take down the CC too. Looks like the WC red and white will be the last plants standing.

The JTR has a cleaning fluid smell almost like Pine-Sol but not as strong. As I said before it is the frostiest of all the plants I grew this year.

The WC clones are pigging out and getting fatter by the week.

Here's what's up this week. Enjoy :peace: :blsmoke:

Row1: WC white, Group shot, WC clone, WC clone, WC red pistils
Row2: WC red pistils, JTR (6-10)
Row3: WC clone, WC clone, JTR (13-15)
Row4: CC both

Glad you like the WC red/pink. THose palnts will take until the 15th to start packing it on. I think CC and JTR are going down. JTR first then CC or maybe both the same day.

I just smoked some JTR and I'm so baked I dont think I can trimm for abit. I already cut into my glove at the thumb today. I will resume tomorrow

Got CC hanging and am eyeballing the JTR next. THe JTR I smoked was only dried and not cured so I can only imagine what its like after a few weeks in the jar. The WC red and white are now going to be the last on the block. As you can see int he pics there are still pistils on the buds. I truly think these bill go into Nov if they hold up.

THe WC clones are really coming through I think. I didnt expect much in the begining when they were so small. I really like the way they formed colas on such small branches. Wonder what these would look like as a full grown plant? THe WC clones remind me of side show bob's hair on the Simpsons, lol.

That cola sure looks tasty.

I'm sure you will give it the slow cure
for max flavor.

Thx Earl. I can't wait for that plant to dry so I can trim it. It smelled good when I hung it Mon this week and it still smells good. I have a couple of tasters Im going to smoke tonight or tomorrow so I will report.
