with sea trout you don't just land 6 there's lots of on/off,s tugs, pulls and lost at the net.
That was a most memorable night warm balmy with sea trout and oz of weed, I was in heaven.
It's no tablefare by any means but fun nonetheless.

Man that must put up a fight!

That one was maybe around 46 or 47.
Not much of a fight actually 80lb braid 100lb leaders. Dem teef are sharp. Big lures some weigh a 1lb and you're tossing all day. Need the heavy gear. They dog like Lakers and head shake hard usually good for a breach and a massive roll/headshake above the water. In the net asap.
Ya I'm in southern Ontario. That pic was from Lake St Clair. They're actually real picky. It's quite the science targeting them. Moon cycles barometric pressure all play huge roles in catching. You must be around southern Ontario or further out west? We don't have em here up north.
Never would have thought they were that tough to catch, I almost expected them to act aggressively like pike and just go for anything in front of them.
Oh no Crocs! You guys gave me the itch.
Got the motor in a bucket to test it out and make sure it runs. Friggin impellers done. 2 week back-order. D'oh!
If I get some decent shut eye tonight I'm gonna take the dog down to the pond nice and early and see if I can get a few specs.
And if it's still early enough I'll swing by one of my little honey holes and see if I can get a couple walleye off shore while I'm out.
If not I'll keep a few of these hammer handles and try out my new meat grinder.

Oh no Crocs!
Bummer on the water pump man it doesn't take but a few seconds to cook the impeller. She run dry or just age
Here's his little cousin lol not bad for a pickerel though imo, just under 6#View attachment 4937500View attachment 4937501

You in northern Ontario? They're loaded up there. Lake of the woods is a great spot
You could catch one on a worm and bobber lol they are strange creatures no doubt. But if you want to be serious and target the big girls you gotta chuck the big baits. I'll bust out my pounder swim shad and take a pic for you. Lol
Yes chain pickerel, they're very good same as pike imo
