Whatzup Lone...Im using Roots organic potting soil these next runs and only going no nutes so far. Been using FFOF last 2 grows. I started 6 plants all dif strains with Roots in one gal for 4 weeks then uppotted to 2 gals. Now at 6 weeks I have only given them water. They are 10 - 13" tall and just put them in flower....Green as can be but not too green. Im only going to start nutes when they tell me they need some. I am also going to grow them out using veg nutes only. I may slowly switch over to flower nutes at week 5 or 6 on a few of them just to compair but may wait till I grow out the clones so it will be a better test. My fans leaves have yellowed and dropped everytime in flower on previous grows about 3 weeks in and gets worse no matter what I do. Hope it works...

Yeah from what I hear that tea is a complete nutrient that replaces grow flower and all of it...the alfalfa has a chemical in it that I forget the name of (starts with a t) that makes flowers explode. Plus...you can ph it to whatever you want..add whatever u want to it...its your nutrient u know? u can customize it however u want. The only reason why I'm not usin it is because i don't know how it would work with hydro....and can't find where anyone has experience in doing so...

Well my aerogarden for example uses a completely organic liquid food, that consists of stuff like bat guano etc and its a hydro system. Or at least thats what i have been told.

Heres the list of whats in the aerogarden hydroponic systems nutes, maybe some one smarter than me can explain, if this is truly organic.

and let me tell you plants grow like crazy in this stuff

I am sure using your own tea in a hydro system would work. long as you covered all

the needs of the plant. I simply use the aerogarden for example because thats the

only hydro system i have atm.

those are expensive too aren't they? You can put together a basic dwc system for like $50. I was mostly worried about how I would filter the final solution and how it would react to my magnetic drive pumps. I honestly think some of my Cal-mag+ is sticking to the outside of the pump. I think I'm going to put together a cheap dwc with all the stuff I have laying around and get the ingredients and do a small dry run. I have some UFO's I can test it on. I nute burned my babies a little bit dude...stop by my thread an check it out.

Yes they are pricey but i love technology and couldn't help myself, when they come up with a way to hook them up to my computer so i can control and monitor them from my iphone i will be in heaven.

Cause of MJ i have found a love for gardening now lol, hell i planted carrots the other day in a smart pot to see what happens!

I'm completely amazed at the health and vigor of my newly born plants in the hydro, some day i will have a more permanent set up that is all hydro but for now hydro/soil is working well.

Ive always wanted to compare tomatoes in hydro and soil. That would be a very interesting experiment, to see how a root plant grows hydroponically.

i will be doing that on accident actually, when my aerograden cherry tomato seed pop tossed out 5 beautiful tomato plant babies i figured i would play with my cloning technique and its fun! i enjoy playing with my vegetables as much as the magic Jane. so now that Ive got these extra cuttings of various stuff i started growing, i will be throwing them in pots around my veg station. I have already made a bunch of observations with plant root structures of tomato's Mary Jane and lettuce, also a few types of hot peppers.

weed is by far the boss and mac daddy, i can see why its called a weed because the roots are over powering and relentless, were as the lettuce was a close tie for first but the roots don't seek out new homes as much as stay at near the peat pot constantly dividing and looking like fine angle hair pasta, now the tomato is a solid third with slow root production and stronger roots in general but much slower expansion, now the hot peppers are interesting they took a long time to build a few very think roots and few fine hairs now that the roots have thickened out the plants are screaming up towards the light. this all was in hydro of course. soil i wont be able to observe till the end of the plants life.

dude!! that's awesome!! I've got to start something up like that. I don't know about a clear pot. Light is generally bad fo roots so while you would be able to observe, how much would the roots be stunted from always being in light?

lol I always figured pineapple was a tree...makes me want to plant one in my vegetable garden..kind of an interesting pretty plant isn't it? said it'll take a little while to bear fruit tho...

So yeah I'm now rooting a pineapple in my cloner lol for fun its free why not.​

Anyways they may look rough around the edges but i feel they will finish ok. I took some fresh bud pics from my current 2 phenos of Hawaiian Surprise, as week seven of flowering comes to a close...​

notice the new growth compared to the old on the HS plants in the back, their new leaves are triple or more in size compared to the old fan leaves. i will never veg under a fish tank light again lol​

my new aero garden starting and cloning system speaks for it self with the dark lush green bushes its creating (these are a different strain tho my skunk number 1 for a lack of a better name atm)
all i do is drop a seed in the aerogarden grow anything pod and watch it grow for a couple weeks then pull it out roots and all and plant her when I'm ready or space is available.​

mentor side notes​

I know I'm breaking one of riddleme's core rules by growing multiple strains, but i have the room so i am also running other strains through my growing process to see how they do when i find ones that adapt well i will keep them.​

I'm also breaking the make it rain rules by only providing a small amount of water to each plant per day, and no large rain watering with wicking after. but once again i seem to have found a happy balance of water and growth rate. So for me its easier to go this route.​

Question?? do the 3 skunk plants that are very bushy and green (the bottom front 3 plants in the last picture) look like they should be given nutes?
The soil is organic mix of aged horse manure, peat, topsoil and compost with sand. I am debating feeding one and watching the other two compared to it any ideas?​

maybe the far left one looks like it could use a little nitrogen. the two sharing the blue tray on the right are fine. I think the one in the middle will show next.

set up a small heater and fan on a timer to combat these massively cold nights. up to 30 below so far, most nights my flower room was seeing a low off 59.


so now everything is great sitten back, enjoying the read out on my temp monitor

well i think he was right i have found a random seed here and there in my test buds, but only one per bud so far seems light amount of seeding so far. I have looked and looked but found no male flowers but i may be looking at a hermi and don't know. anyways all seems well tricomes are turning very white now from mostly clear last week, i suspect i will be seeing ambers this week. My plan is to harvest with 10-20% amber tric's, on my 2 mature Hawaiian Surprise plants.

bad news my 3 really healthy skunk plants have all popped male flowers sigh, grapes galore. i have decided to take them off the watering system and let them go to no water, this should give me a better idea of the signs of no water stress, hopefully this will prevent future confusion when this condition exists.

I will do a full update later but for now all is well and not much change.
