The plant stalk will grow over it eventually if you don't take it off.

I tied the gorilla down and it got mad....so I untied it and tied the durban down.....she is pumping away....the bottom pic is Durban

I’ve used tape, zip ties, gorilla glue. And number of things to press the split together.

Best thing was string with gorilla glue pulled tight for three days.. untied it and it help just fine!!

Same thing happened to me, but it split like a good 4-5" area. I pushed it back up where it should be, taped her up with duct tape and gave it support. Worked like a charm.

Ya these things are tough man. We treat them like babies because we cherish them and watch them grow into these beautiful things.....but at the end of the day there WEEDS LOL! They will GROW!

I'll add another just zip tie it comment, I've seen them come back stronger and grow around/ over the zip ties.
