Hey folks! Sorry so long.
Well, here's the skinny on these lights fir veg. As we are deff ready for flower all around .
Trinity: incredible amount of light & coverage. Its hot but as its a proto but still not to bad. Will take IR readings asap. Have a nice gun. Plants veg well under it. Squat & ight nodes. The comp plant has the gnats unfortunately so yes it did stunt its growth but not to bad & will outgrow it all in flower

84x's: Nuts! Great veg lights. They lack the coverage & efficiency of todays models but the spectrum kills it in veg.
I would compare it to my favorite spectrum led veg light, My Hydroponics Hut, except it grows them bigger, faster. And no matter what plant i put under them, it perks right up. At this point I'm literally using them as rehab lights for plants that aren't reacting well to the white. Like that tall FuelBomb on the front left.. I dont think its really been happy once under the Trinity & after i buffered the CoCo with plants in them at transplant, that was it. She was going downhill fast untill i put her under the 84x. After 1 day, the pic here, she looks 90% better.
The comp plants did not get the buffering.
HLG'S plant still had Gnats i was suprised to see so tonight it got the GnatNix. Which is out of buss. BTW.
HGL is forming a new line of boards & may be sending one or 2 to replace these 84x's for flower. I think that would be great because then they will have the coverage & efficiency to match the Trinity with the same RGB spectrum.
Ill update with any info i get on either companies lights.

All's good, rooms getting cleaned out this wknd n we should be in flower by the end of next week if all goes as planned. Not that i have a choice. These plants are pushing me out the door. Lol!

Calm your shit smooshie face - he ain't gonna be swapping out the 84x's on this round. The new boards are still in design phase.

Wait...why are you swapping out any of the lights for flower? That doesn't sound "great".

Isnt the whole point to see what they do "side by side"?

Swapping out lights now makes it a "Side by side by side: HGL Veg + HGL Flower vs HLG Full Spectrum"

Seems a little donked up, no?

So when he says "these" 84xs hes referring to a different set of lights to be "replaced"? Or he has other 84x's and those are being replaced? And he meant for flower at a different time? With different plants?

Seems like the "replacements" are directly in relation to this side by side. Because...

He said it will be great to have a new light from HGL " because then they will have the coverage & efficiency to match the Trinity". So obviously he is talking about getting the new lights and comparing them to the HLG.

So it doesnt seem crazy to assume he is talking about using different lights to finish this grow. Because of...well...literally everything he said. Haha

Obviously its possible he meant something other then what he said. Maybe he just misspoke.

They aren't going to be available for another month. So, going to be hard to replace the 84x's with something else.

Not really IMHO.

If an update contains great info and a statement that sounds like it could be jeopardizing the results, I'd expect people to pick up on it and ask. Its only because of how important these type of test are to some of us. No biggie though. I understand what you meant.

Also, thank you for all the hard work. As someone who is getting ready to make a big light purchase, this test is now the biggest factor in where my money goes. Thanks Hybrid!

Yea, I don't think Hybrid meant it that way. Hes got a pretty good connection with the manufacturers so I'm guessing he knows all kinds of inside info.

It's the few people like Hybrid that have those relationships and also do these tests that are so valuable to regular growers like me and you.

We are very lucky to have him. Thanks again for all the hard work Hybrid!

Looks like the site is still semi under construction. Cant wait for it to be done so I can read about these.

They kind of look like HLG boards. How similar are they? It's a smart move...its clearly the direction the market is going.
