How am I doing?

Overwatering Big time. Dont worry, this is the number 1 amateur mistake. Let the soil dry out on top, stick your finger in the soil, if its moist DONT WATER.

They are young and will definitely perk right up. When you wait longer between waterings the roots will have to search for water, this is what develops strong healthy root masses. If they constantly have water at the roots the roots have no need to grow.

The soil should be dry and crumbly on top before you water again, the leaves will reach for the light after the soil drys out a bit.

Looking good tho man. And you can go ahead and remove any yellow/dead leaves, they will just dry up and fall off eventually anyway.

The thing is that they are over a month old! Damn, they look a week old but they're not. I cut off the bottom yellow leaves just now.

Also, I'm not sure if it can be over watering because I let it be dry at the bottom for 1-2 days. Is it possible it is underwatering?
 
If the soil completely dries out they will droop a LOT, but as soon as you water starving plants they would perk up literally within an hour or 2.

Hello Brotha!

I would like to help out... You should not have to feed your plants this early... They have gone into nutrient lockout (speaking from the first pics)... All they need is low ppm water at a ph of 6. If you can get into buying RO water better, If not then yeah just leave the tap water out for 24 hrs or so but you have to be able to check the PH and adjust to 6

Is it possible the potting soil you used has fertilizer in it... Scotts and Miracle Grow...?

Definately cut off the nutes flush thouroughly, and wait. Make sure there is something in there to feed them, a very low amount of nutes. Like 200ppm.


-Also, if you don't have a pH pen, and TDS meter, it is the best investment you could possibly make. About 150 bucks for both, you can get the Hanna combo meter for like 80 bucks, it also does temp.

Thanks for the info. How long does it usually take plants to get out of shock? Should I flush the plants again next time I water?

There are no nutes in the soil. I'm using Pro-Mix.

All I have atm is a shitty ph meter but I'm going to get the combo pen this friday.
 
Well, super light feeding.

You want there to be the proper level of nutes in the soil.


With FoxFarm, I'd give them this dose at that stage;
Per gallon:
-3mL of Grow Big (1/2 teaspoon)
-10 mL Big Bloom (2/3 tablespoon= 2 teaspoons)


That should get you close to around 300ppm... When you get that TDS meter you'll know how much it is, and you can adjust the strength better.

But this is after a good flush.


Also if you think you're having difficulty judging the moisture level, get a moisture probe, they're like 5 bucks, you'll only need it for the first harvest then you'll understand the watering schedule a lot better.
 
So got any suggestions on where to get a cheap tds meter? I've got one of those green soil ph testers with the poiter tester built in, and I have a water ph test kit. But I don't have a way to test ppm.

Thanks for the tip again! The weird thing is that I fed with 1/4 teaspoon in a gallon of water. I'm goin to the hydro shop friday, this is my list: fox farm big bloom, ph/tds/ec meter, and Rootech cloning gel. Is there anything else I should get? Is Superthrive worth getting?

I use Superthrive, so do a ton of people, it's just hormones, a fertilizer booster...

You add it at one drop per gallon.

It's cheap as fuck.

Yeah, I think if you use the bigbloom, you'll see a differance.

Btw, you use a lot of big bloom, so buy the gallon, it's a lot cheaper than buying 4 liters. It's 40 bucks a gallon, 16 bucks a liter.

Dose is 30 mL per gallon, 2 taablespoons... You use a lot.

Sweet man! I'm definitely picking up the gallon. Do you think the combo of Superthrive and Big Bloom will help my plants recover and start growing? I'd give you more rep but I have to wait:)
 
not to pour salt on the wound but I myself would do everything mr. marks says and start some germing or sprouting just in case so you dont lose an assload of time if they dont pull out.. can you get ahold of some clones that would be a balance just in case :D :c

Thanks for checkin out my thread. I have 3 more NL x Skunk. One popped up 2 days ago, and the other 2 popped today. I'm considering planting 3 more BBS too, but I'm trying to get clones. It's almost impossible for me to find any though!:(
