i didnt start my grow yet i dont feel confident enough and im worried about the smell so im hesitating to start.. the problem is i live in a flat and my wife sister come to live with us because its more near to her university .. im worried that the smell can leak out .. what do you think guys, would it be smelly even if i seald the closet with carbon filters and i attend to use also ona odor neutralizer and clean the surface in my room dailly with odor eliminators plus putting airpurifier. lastly grow something lick jack herer and northren lights strain with low odor
would that be enough to not have anykind of smell in my room/house ?

NOTE (cannabis is illegal in my place)

You need a good quality carbon filter along with negative air pressure.

Also make sure the carbon filter is rated for the fans airflow or higher.

My grow is near a public footpath so noise and smell is a big no no for me

Smell will be contained inside the room but once the door is open that will all change.

If smell containment is very important do not skrimp on your exhaust fan and filter setup, you can achieve the negative air pressure using a fan controller but the cheapest option is a passive intake.

I'm unsure of your setup but with my hybrid controller I've got my fans running at 10% at all times until temps rise then they fire up to cool the room.

I honestly don't have any problem with smells escaping. None what so ever and i couldn't grow if i did.

I run a 6inch rvk L1 with rhino pro carbon filter, change the filter every year.

Exactly that my friend.

Do not scrimp on your exhaust setup is all I'm saying and make sure every ounce of air that leaves that tent goes through your carbon filter first you will be golden.

When you do open up your tent to peak in fire your exhaust fan to 100% to limit any air escaping

Also carbon filters pull down your airflow so if your fan is rated at say 700m3h you will lose about 15- 20% (if i remember correctly) so if you are running an intake fan you need to take this into consideration.

Don't want to be pushing in more air than is being removed.

With a tent the sides will suck in a little under negative pressure you don't want it to balloon out

Here's the answer you don't want to hear...

It's going to smell. Period.

At one point or another it's going to be stinky (especially if you have good genetics.)

You can get low odour strains, and the best carbon filter on the market and you might be alright. But even at harvest it sometimes smells.

I've seen a lot of people do successful apartment grows so it can surely be done. But in my experience there's almost always some smell at some point in the grow.

You could get your olfactory system removed ! That's a bitch having to worry about that ! I live in remote location, never had to worry about those beautiful " scents " !
Get out the activated charcoal , you can make it yourself. That shit works like a charm on many things but ya have to get your wallet out . Some friends of mine buy real cheap whisky and run it through the A.C. a few times . It improves the flavor enormously!
