If it was in my town you could be sure what would happen.Cops entered my house looking fir a fugitive. I drove in as they were walking out my front door.
We then went to my locked growroom
Counted my plants and they left.
You never know what will happen
Lol, i mean what situation will bring attention to yourself. If it was in my town you could be sure what would happen.
The thing is, if something similar to this did happen, I would have my grow down faster than you could say oh shit, and lay low for at least a couple cycles.Cops entered my house looking fir a fugitive. I drove in as they were walking out my front door.

Idiots. What if I'm a business owner and need to transport valuables? Or if I own a gun and want it secured? What about the vehicles that have hidden, lockable compartments from the factory.Massachusetts just proposed a new reg that makes it illegal to have aftermarket hidden compartments in a vehicle. It doesn't matter if there are drugs in them, the law claims that just the existence of a hidden compartment is prima facia evidence that the vehicle is used to traffic drugs.
Idiots.
Edit - here is the pertinent text of the law (emphasis mine).
House Bill H.1266:
(d) Forfeiture: Any conveyance containing a hidden compartment, as well as the contents of the hidden compartment, shall be subject to seizure by any city, town, or state police department and subject to the provisions of Section 47 of this chapter. Proof that a conveyance contains a hidden compartment as defined in this section shall be prima facie evidence that the conveyance was used intended for use in and for the business of unlawfully manufacturing, dispensing, or distributing controlled substances.

Otherwise if you were to get caught it would kind of be a "well what did you really expect?"
Doesn't matter, used to be the cops could only bust you for what was on the warrant, no more.Lol, i mean what situation will bring attention to yourself.
I had nothing to do with the reason those cops arrived
Im not disagreeing just so ya know.Doesn't matter, used to be the cops could only bust you for what was on the warrant, no more.
Under this bill, only after market compartments would be illegal. It looks like it's stuck in committee; hopefully it dies there.Idiots. What if I'm a business owner and need to transport valuables? Or if I own a gun and want it secured? What about the vehicles that have hidden, lockable compartments from the factory.
When did we get rid of the 4th amendment?Doesn't matter, used to be the cops could only bust you for what was on the warrant, no more.
I had a similar situation about 10 yrs ago. I have two houses and I moved from the smaller to the bigger and I figured I'd just use the smaller one to grow in. Well, a couple months later I found a electric representative nosing around. I asked him what was the problem? He said "We're investigating a power surge" Then proceeded to ask about who lived there and why was the meter spinning so fast. I told him my son was running a electric heater and a lot of computer equipment and then he left. Probably nothing was going to come of it, but I got the wife and we moved everything pronto. I lost my Cindy and Silver Spice. The thing is, if something similar to this did happen, I would have my grow down faster than you could say oh shit, and lay low for at least a couple cycles.

Good to know, I don't care if any one takes this stuff serious or not, but the consequences or too great to take chances. I continue because I only run a small grow so the chances of them busting me for electricity use is about zero. I was thinking a while back about tripling it, but with the situation the way it is and my location, you'd have to be nuts to do so.Im not disagreeing just so ya know.

October 26, 2001 with the implementation of the Patriot Act.When did we get rid of the 4th amendment?
Different types of loads have different signatures, an inductive load such as a motor has different characteristics to a similar sized load if incandescent lighting as an example. These differences, provided the smart meter is rigged to register and record such things, can be collected and used to distinguish between different appliances. How on earth can a meter know what electrical devices you are using, I don’t think this is possible, electrical appliances don’t send signals other that how much electric is used, if I run a 1000w Microwave for an hour and a 1000w light for an hour it will only show that I’m using 1000w worth of electricity
dependiung where u live and what plan u are onI've been thinking if someone wanted to get a lot more lights, how much would be too much? Like, arouse suspicion and such. Does a high electric usage/bill warrant for a search? Hypothetically, can someone just put 20 lights in their garage? (Assuming breaker holds)
shit don't look now the sky is falling lolThe smart meter can tell the difference, anyway, if they get a warrant they're not gonna ask you why you're electricity bill is so high, they're gonna come in.
give it timeshit don't look now the sky is falling lol
Depends on where you are. I'm sure I've heard of cases where people were charged for having paraphenalia associted with cannabis production.Another point to be made here is that grow rooms arent illegal by themselves, even if a smart meter could tell the electric company the exact fucking brand name of your lights and fans and shit thats not enough cause for a warrant, plenty of people have indoor gardens that are just for everyday plants/veggies.. So as others have suggested: id be more worried about someone ratting than my electric usage.
