Pricing would be a regional thing. I have lived in a few states, and 2 countries.
When I lived in Chicago, it was $700 or about for a LB of Mex brick, $2400+ for high grade. When I lived in Houston, it was $400 or less for Mex brick,
but pretty high for high grade, it was normal to see $25 a gram, $3000+ a LB. I lived in Duluth Minnesota, and Appleton, Minnesota. In Duluth, Mex
brick was $2000+ a LB, and if you could even find a LB of high grade, it would be $4000+. In Appleton, MN, Mex brick was about it, $200+ an oz,
$600+ 1/4 LB, I've never seen anything bigger, and high grade was rare, if it was available, $120+ a 1/4 oz. When I lived in Mexico (1979-1991, and
again from 2005-2007) in 2005-2007, a kilo of low quality for about $400 Pesos, or $35 US dollar, better stuff was harder to find, but was still fairly
cheap, about $700-$1000 Pesos a kilo. This was in Veracruz, I'm sure prices vary from area to area just like here, and closer to the border, the more
the price increases. I was pretty south. Bottom on the Gulf of Mexico.
I'm not too sure about prices here where I'm at now, I can get schwag for $150 an oz. I choose not to buy it, and grow my own for much cheaper.
It all depends on where you are, and who you know.
