Agreed could bounce back seen it beforeWhen I said it was awesome I meant more along the lines of ballsy..... Brave , etc etc
Well when I checked them out this morning when I went to out just to be sure everything go right at the switch. Also to turn the heater on and check rh, but they looked happy as can be. the bud sites all grew a little more than I expected for just over night, and they are looking good as far as the leaf too. That surprise me too, it's almost like I gave em steroids! Only I have no leaf that isn't part of the buds, you know the inner ones that make them go flat. I'll take some pics again in a couple days cause I think the old man might be on to something. But being a rookie I really don't want to toot quite yet.I'm not joking they arent that bad seen worse and could easily come back if just starting week 3
Well here it is my friend, when plants are in the wild they need every bit of light they can get from the sun. But the also provide protection from the elements too, some strains are so resilient to the cold they can be grown all they way to Dec. Not to menation the suns light creates more lumens and variety of light colors specifically red.Im interested to see how this ends up. Monster cropping so you have a single outer canopy layer makes sense.
Going so far as to diminish your light receptive surface area like you have doesnt make sense to me.
Nutes are the vitamins, light is the food, food turns into bud and your plants are capable of processing less food now.
Keep us posted!
There is a guy that does it this way everytime....100's of plants.Wooow ..... That's awesome... Have never seen it done so hard out before , PLEASE keep the thread up to date with how it goes.... Hopefully they bounce back and fill in nicely for ya , but if they don't I guess its a lesson learned ...
Well you saw what the looked like right after I stripped the m right, well this is after only 1 night recovery. keep in mind I super cropped every single branch on every plant some are almost as thick as the stock and the ones that were recently opened up thar were skinny but not stretched from light deprivation were cropped when I stripped them. I have to say they are very Heatley resilient plants to have snapped back after 12 hours from that amount off stress! sure hope it dosnt affect the potenecy. You should be fine those two should bounce back time will tell but I'm optimistic
Yea , that's sweet, I've trialled it myself before but never to that extent, I like to see how the plants react to differently to different things , I tripped and fell onto entire tent full one time ,2nd week into flower and I'm a big fat fucker , they looked dismal, but couple days later they were all good. There is a guy that does it this way everytime....100's of plants.
You do not lose you end up with really dense buds everywhere.
Of course strain does matter.
They are both hybrids LA confidential & Blue dream very resilient and seem to first timer friendly, either that or it's beginners luck! Either way they still have a min of 5 weeks time go and I will most likely be doing it again at the start of week 5 only when I do it won't be nearly as extreme cause they won't be producing any more leaves they will be exclusively putting 100% of its energy to the buds and they will need the ones that I leave after this second defoliation. I feel like all the information and books along with years if being around grows and learning all I could before I started was defiantly beneficial. There is a guy that does it this way everytime....100's of plants.

Because the whole point to the technique s to give the buds as much light as possible since during the flower stage growth for the plant stops and flowers are all that will continue to grow, but they need to have as intense a light as can be used.I have 3 1000wat hps covering basically a 6×6 area and the recovery from what I did has been quickWhy does stripping the leaves have to be done twice?
Because

In my opinion, you should only remove the fan leaves that are covering up potential bud sites and tuck the rest under the screen if you are doing scrog. If your plant were to have a deficiency with certain nutrients it will rob it from the older fan leaves first (unless you dont have ANY). This is kind of a canary in the coal mine for you to read your plants as well. Just a thought.
I like to defoliate anything in the screen before the flip and try to tuck anything while in flower but also not being afraid of removing anything that is being a bitch. Doing it 3 weeks into flower may extend your cycle I believe
I'm on now hurryyup it would extend things about a week probably.
