Before 1918 you were not allowed to vote, in America or Canada. Males could always vote in Canada, but we had poll taxes in the past too, Jim Crow extended here as well, where ever you have black people and bigots. No one is really free of the shit, our conditioning riding on top of our genetic propensities is who were are, your personality is an accumulation of habits and preferences.
did the UK have Jim Crow?

Many craft brewers around me too and they deliver. Not saying I have a drinking problem but the driver told me they’ve put me on a regular schedule just like a bus stop.
my town is brewery/growler city..gotta have a growler from each different brewery- it's a status thing here.

what i'd really like is dispensary delivery in this state. i thought i heard they were starting in Boulder or Denver. i might have dreamed it too. idk.

The UK never had a significant black population until after the second world war and in the early 60's immigration law changed as it did in Canada, America and most other places. The formation of the UN put an end to declared wars and many other things too, we have to deal with other nations and form a community with them, a global village.

In Nova Scotia where I live, historically had the largest black population in Canada until the sixties and there were poll taxes, but they went away in the 60's, there was and is racism too. When I was a kid back in the sixties, the president of the Sydney steel workers union was a black man and the union was largely white men. My father had a black man as a real friend, they worked together and shared a common back ground as poor fisherman growing up in the remains of the British empire. He was from the Bahamas and my dad was from the Newfoundland, both crown colonies at the time. The fist time I had freshly squeezed lemon aid was when his wife made if for me. My dad was not an educated man, he grew up where schools were not common and hard to get too and was born in 1911.

That coke down there sure did smell good. No point of ever doing it again after I left that area. Nothing will ever beat it unless I go to peru
I've seen people go to Hell with coke, they lost their souls and some lost their lives too. A dangerous indulgence, the better the feeling the greater the danger, the hedonic treadmill is an exhausting place for many and lethal for some. Pot has limits that nature imposes, smoke too much and you no longer get high, it's a nice safety brake for many. The trouble with pleasure is it does not last and cannot, nature didn't evolve us that way, it is the anticipation of pleasure that really drives us most of the time.

I'm all for pleasure though, just don't get too attached to it. When you get right down to it, ice-cream is a drug for many, that addictive combo of fat and sugar does not occur in nature and when you combine them...

I dabbled with it back in the 80's when we were still getting the good stuff. Once the War on Drugs cut off the supply of ether they started processing with all kinds of nasty solvents. Then crack hit the streets. Prior to that it was mostly lines before many people turned to freebasing. I watched people losing everything and quickly realized I wanted no part in the lifestyle. Which is what it had become. What used to be a weekend of snorting a few lines turned into a way of life for many people I knew. There was an open crack market in downtown Portland for years along the bus mall. It was all right out in the open. Crazy is all I can say.

I don't associate with anyone that consumes those kinds of drugs. Coke and Meth are things I don't want to have anything to do with or people that do.

I turned on Fox to see if they are talking about the Russian hacking of our government.

And some bright blonde woman says 'People are starting to realize China is our greatest threat now'.

And then they have a clip of Colbert asking about Hunter.

Meanwhile on America-1 Russia is attacking our nation, pushing propaganda about the virus and stirring up anti-vaxine hysteria, and Fox is going all 'but China'.

Basing this on 2 minutes, because I immediately changed it after that.

Then just on Morning Joe, Joe is all, what happened to the Latino voters.

Their expert comes in and goes down the list, pro-police, Trump machismo, communist trolling, etc.

Not one mention of the fact that the Russian military started to micro target them with their social media attack. Even though all the things they listed as things they cared about are all things shown to have been targeted by Trump's trolls (foreign and domestic).

Then worse still, they end the segment with 'up next Russia hacks our government'.

The rudeness of not silencing your phone while on camera (Morning Joe) and having a segment about your book drop on Truman once every hour (Joe Scarborough).
It is called "The Morning Joe Show" for a reason. I don't like how he asks a question of a guest and then he just keeps talking. Frankly I think he has let it go to his head. His guests have more pertinent and interesting things to say than he does. I really like it when I play the podcast and find out, "Joe's off today".

he has Wednesdays off too. but you have to watch everything not just broadcast or cable or digital..you have to triangulate all three. i tune into FOX at times. i really can't believe that pile of horse shit they want to sell but it's good to know what they talk about and hear their parrots that come here, like as if we didn't know you got that from FOX. i don't do any right wing websites though, Twitter FB Tik-Tok Instagram or any other social media where rubles may have bought advertising space.
