Man I hate to see Spliff go. His journals were so well done. Does this mean that to put up a side by side the manufacturer has to be a sponsor? Kind of reminds me of what happens in AZ with the 25 mile radius rule. They made it so LEO now has to police who lives within that radius and bust them for growing their own meds. So in the name of 'mmj progress' they make it so only corporate sponsors ie licensed dispensaries, get to have a seat at the table. Don't believe me just check out the rules in AZ that prohibit anyone within 25 miles of growing their own;

http://azdhs.gov/medicalmarijuana/faqs/index.php?pg=cultivation-boundary

And this is progress? C'mon, denying anyone the right to grow their own meds for corporate profit is not progress! Nor is silencing an awesome grower like Spliff for posting up what I thought was one of the best side by sides I've seen. I hope it was temporary but nonetheless it makes me wonder what really inspired the ban?

Well there aren't any dispensaries are there? So that hasn't even come into play...the Governor there as here in NM is an asshat ...thats whats wrong

Wonder if MHT induction is any good, lots of good claims.
never seen a 400w ball type bulb.
But it Sounds like solara's light?

The new generation of MHT Lighting is the best choice for truly sustainable lighting solutions:

Induction lamp performance comparing MHT Lighting and other companies

Compare Item MHT Lighting Other Companies

Lamp Performance
Starting Using special methods (adding some material mixed with a buffer gas) to improve the igniting performance in dark position. Difficulty igniting the lamp in dark position.
Amalgam Position Uses bent amalgam tip shape to prevent the amalgam going into the lamp when it melts. Some application (when amalgam melts) the amalgam will go into the lamp tupe, damaging the lamp.
LLD Uses special ratio of Japanese phosphor powder and coating technology to get a good LLD performance. Uses domestic products and inconsistent colors (CCT).
Magnetic core heat sink equipment The power coupler has a large surface area for the heat sink (dentation shape), to prevent the magnetic core failure due to high temperatures. Have not found reports at this time.
Amalgam tip cover The amalgam tip can have a cap to maintain the amalgam temperature for stability in a wide range of ambient temperature operations; for lower temperatures. Not an option.

Ballast Performance
Soft Switching
Uses soft switching technique (both igniting and running phase) to make sure the ballast loss is below 5%.
The control IC is produced by a world famous company (such as IR etc) so the reliability can be achieved.
Have not found reports at this time.
The control IC reliability is a little lower.
Reliability The improved lamp igniting performance, with lower voltage, reduces the risk of damage during the igniting phase. Have not found reports at this time.
Lighting Protection With 3 MOV (20KA current sink), it can protect the ballast from damage by lightning (3KA / 5KV). Have not found reports at this time.
Lamp Power Dimming Function The burst dimming method has been used, the lumen efficiency can be maintained constant when dimming. No dimming function.
Generator (Ballast) Protection Surge protection, in-rush current protection, and proper thermal management extends the ballast life time. Very few ballast companies provide the required protection because of costs.
The complete luminaire is designed and produced in same factory. MHT company designed and produced the whole induction lamp fixture system (including lamp tube, ballast and fixture) so they know how the ballast matches the lamp performance, the fixture and how to match the amalgam temperature inside the lamp to get more light output during real applications. With the specially designed fixture, the ballast housing can contact the fixture surface to get a good heat sink for the ballast running. Lamp tube, Ballast and Fixture are made separate and can not match each other in good status.

Dimming Control Method
Dimming Method MHT has 4 options for induction lamp dimming control (remote or integral control,ROAM enabled wireless controls, and 0-10V analog control method). It can meet different application requirements. The PWM dimming method can maintain the induction lamp lumen efficiency during dimming. Using frequency modulation for dimming, the lumen efficiency will drop down during dimming.

Type of Lamp Shape
Ball Type MHT (12W – 400W), 12, 24, 40 watt self ballasted, 35W & 55Watt lamp with E39 or E26 base /remote ballast. 12W-200W
Square Tubular Type MHT (40W – 400W) 40W – 200W
Round Tubular Type MHT (40W – 300W) 40W – 200W

Thanks, from the last post it sounds like if I replaced two 600HPS lights w/three 420 inductions I would do fine. I see you are all adding led's for some added red . I was looking at lights from Alibaba, (Chinese companies) that actually sell induction lights with red/blue bulbs & one company has a purple induction, all tto supposedly be bloom only, which is what I want. It looks to be phosphorus powder injected into the lights. I don't know if that would actually help the plants or if it is a selling point. LOL I will check out the 420's from Indigro. Those Chinese companies that sell LED's will build your LED light with whatever specific lamps you want, in the number of each spectrum you would like & hell, you could get a (for instance) 320x3w light built for around $4-500.00 including shipping. But I've never ordered stuff from China before & thats alot of money to be sending them, especially if I were buying 3 lights. How about warranties, etc.? Alibaba does keep these companies in check, I would hope. Has anyone ordered lights directly from any of these Chinese companies? Are the lights even good? If it weren't for our ever rising electrical, I would stay with my HID's. As it is, I had to put one room back together already, due to my indecision. LOL Thanks for the info.

You could replace 2x 600's with 2x 420's and should not lose coverage.

personally, I'd avoid Alibaba, but you're also comparing a Chinese built to something backed up in the US with a 10yr warranty. If you're going to buy Chinese panels, do your research first, some have polarized reviews.
