Is this rot? Or ripe?

Its outside but I put a little green house over it trying to keep the wet weather out. Noticed this spot today. This is my first grow.

Now can I surgically removed just infected tissue? Or must the entire bud be excised?

I just clip out the rot area and then keep an eye on the bud for any more rot that may be in the area.

it is better to cut the whole bud but you can try to cut it out. Works most of the time.

Removed, thank you all for the quick responses. I spent some time tugging on some buds and making sure there were no other spots


I think the rest looks good but, idk everyone around me already harvested and mine doesn't look ready yet

The spores will spread easily, it doesn't take much disruption to cause the spores to go flying everywhere. A good misting with a 3% H2O2 solution would be wise prior to messing with it to excise the rot. Still, it will likely keep spreading provided the conditions remain favorable for mold growth. You would be wise to chop it soon before you lose more to botrytis.

That woulda been good to know an hour ago lol....anything I should be doing now? Post rot extraction?

I have a bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide. Should I mist the suspect area? The entire plant? I don't want to cause more problems...what are the potential problems if I spray too much?

Just chop that whole bud off man. The rest will rot for sure.

Working double shifts next few days...wont get another chance to check the plant until Sunday. With any luck she still looks good then, or I suppose I take her down early.any idea how much is there?

That sucks what a pisser! Anyway hydrogen peroxide turns to water after it oxidises spores etc, it's harmless to plant at the recommended doses.
