sorry knickers i couldnt see the yellowing until today. u must have a good eye lol. um well as for nutrients i added the two starter nutrients (they said to add both and 2 weeks later add one) and i havent put anymore in yet. i added the nutrients on the 29th august so its been 8 days or somethen. so have i overdosed the plants or do i need to put more in? ther r 2 types of yellowing on the plant. the brown spots like wen leaves dry up and a lighter green kinda patch?

lol ill answer this for sicc bcause he answered many questions for me. What i do is i cover my sink with tin foil and sit the top of the ag on it with the roots hangin into the sink thats covered with tin foil. Then as he said u empty the water and clean the reservoir and fill with fresh water. Those dry off green patches u talk about are from ur ph bein to high. I tell u this from experience as im an AG user my self and im havin great results from it. The ph up and down is safe for ur plants dont worry, is the same they use on aquariums. You can buy cheap kits that come with a little bottle of a testin liquid u add to a little bit of water in a small test tube they provide you and the little bottle has a color chart on it to compare it to ur water after u add that testin liquid and that will tell u ruffly what ur ph is. But honestly even tho this is an option, i found that method not to be very acurate and once i got an actual ph meter it helped my grow tremendusly it is actually the best investemnet i made ( except the AG itself of course lol). About the other kind of burn on ur plants, u prolly over nuted them with those 2 tabs, u shouldnt use any more than half of one of those tabs to start off if ur gonan use them at all. But after u change ur water u should be good.

dude, the same thing happened to me but way worse, almost all of mine are burnt, but, i did flush and all the new growth looks real healthy, one day these plants will produce some good herbal enlightenments
A digital pH meter is the best option, but as said the cheap liquid testers are fine and a good starting point. You rely should go and get the air pump and pH kit soon or you'll start running into more problems :/. There's not much point flushing your res before hand.

hey guys and thanx for all ur help. im not finished with ur help yet lol and i just wanted to say thanx heaps coz id be screwed so far without it. ok so things have been goin well i removed the middle front plant coz the leaves ended up kinda burnt and i realized i probably have to many in there anyways. so the 4 left are doin very well. they havent got the brown on them like that one plant did. anyways. i was given a hydroponic marijuana handbooka while ago and i decided to read some of. so i got to a section that was about pre- flowering and another was called pruning. well ill post some pics of the stem area and the top leaves and it would be kool if some one could tell me if im ready to pre flower (presexing watever its called. NOT ACTUAL FLOWERING. i wanna do this so i can throw the males out and move my little female plants to their final spots while the roots arnt tangled. so can someone tell me what to do if they are ready to pre flower. i no to switch the lights to 12/12 but in an aerogarden i have no idea how to do that. with my aerogarden u have to personalize the lights by turning it off at the time u want it to and it sets itself? does it have a 12/12 setting? also im about to prune. in aus we call fimming (its not tipping). i will chop the very top new grow abot 3/4 and it will appear 4 heads are growing back? i hope so anyways. all ur help in really appreciated. steph

everything is lookin great, for pre sexing, they have to be at least 6 or 8 nodes i believe before you can tell anything, you have about 3, but this is a perfect time to switch to 12/12, they all seem healthy, so im sure your have a good female ratio, no probelms so far, so nothing to stress them into males. Basically, if you treat a plant good its whole life, most likely it will become a female.
You will need a Fig. 8 cord, not sure if they have them out there, looks like this
and plug that into an external timer, which you set the lights to 12/12, i think i posted that AG thread, should read thru it if you havent,

Pre-flowering happens as a result of the plant maturing.
You can sex a plant by taking a cutting and changing the photo-period to 12/12.
Also, fimming is a somewhat similar but different approach than topping. When you top, you cut the stem right above a node instead of the actual new growth.
Finally, your plants look beautiful. Good job!

they look good but as u can see form the first photos i posted they still havent grown much in height. is this normal still?

awsome. im so excited. ok so this is off he topic 4 now but i brought a new pipe the other day and its started to get that brown build up around the glass. is there a way to clean it out with out taking it apart. someone said washing powder and hot water but that didnt work? any ideas?

Soak it in alcohol for about 24hrs.
As Foxcompany you should put these plants into 12/12 right now as they will continue to grow through flowering and could outgrow your AG. See the link in my sig as an example of the bother caused when your plants overgrow your AG.
The easiest place to find a figure 8 power cord would be dicksmiths or similar. They probably have them at kmart etc or you can do what I did and steal the cord from an old cd player as it's the common plug for portable stereos, especially older ones. Once you have a cord you will also need a timer. These are sold next to the extension cords etc and simply plug into the wall and then have a timer that turns themselves on and off. Just get an analogue timer as they're more reliable and you don't need to fine tune your timer for your lights, just have it turn on/off every 12 hours. Ikea sells a two pack of timer for under $10 so pick them up when you go and buy the extra lights (which you need for flowering)
