ok so who is from australia in this thread. obviously american and that brands are not helpful to me so im calling aussies to give me some direction were to get cfls for growing. big w? kmart? bunnings?

and what do i put the lights in? will i need to buy like lamps and light bulbs. or do u get a connection with the light bulbs?
SICC you can not purchase such things in Aus. I've consulted with electricians as to what light fittings are available, and short of making your own as I ended up doing, the ikea lamp and 48w globes I've talked a out are the best cheap CFL option.

You can take the reflector off to get the lights closer to the plants, such as, place one in between plants to allow for more coverage. You don't really need a reflector if you have some kind of reflective material (e.g. Mylar) in your grow room.
Australia uses 240v and different plugs; so yes you could find some things on eBay but once you ship them you won't be saving any money and it will be a lot more hassle than just doing what I suggested/did. Anyone that ships a baton holder with a cord and a plug from one hemisphere to the other is a stooge.

hello hello. its been a while. my internet was down for a while so im using my dads computer. ok so i dont have a picture update (will soon) but omg have my plants comes so far. they ALL are female. didnt get one male yippee. i got a better light of ebay. us aussies gotta love ebay lol. the plants started to grow black spots so i got some ph up and down and fixed the ph and its all good now. yyyaaaaayyyyyy. i so badly wanted to update lol. tey are doin very well. cant wait to post pics lol. the light i have now is huge. iv never seen a lightbulb that big b4. so they al flowered in the end.... i must be soooooo lucky. anyways cant wait to post pics. im soooooo happy lol

hey iv never posted a link before so i hope it works. this is the exact light we r using. with a metal shade on top with a yoyo (thing that makes it go up and down). ill definatley post pics 2moro. its dark here and my internet has only just come on. cant wait for ur replys

ok so i took these pics today. lol i just could stop takin pics of the heads lol. im just sooooo proud of myself lol. they have had a ph problem so some of the leaves started to become diseased but its all fixed now with some ph up and down. and also i sprayed some miracle grow on the plants which then dried which gave them white powder spots. should wear away (wont do it agen lol)
