Looking sweet on this run again. Reference the pics there is a limit on file sizes of 10mb, so I imagine all the pics your trying to upload at once are more than 10mb.
Be interesting to see if these reds make any difference as I will be running deep reds from next run along with all Samsung strips.
Nice to see you back posting..

I bet for slightly smaller leaves, stockier stems and a more colorful endproduct because of the added blue diodes. Red sides should boost photosynthesis a bit but there is probably no visible effect as when you add more blue. With a few far-red diodes it would be a different situation and the effect would be visible(longer internodes).

Looks good! Any pics of the end product of your last round?
I had a bit of a problem with my phone at the time of trimming harvest, iPhone 6s 16gb, and was unable to document any pics of the dried flowers but can assure you they were awesome. My phone ran out of memory which prevented me from taking pics, receiving emails, etc. my phone was pretty much useless aside from calls and text at that time. My phone problem is what prevented me from posting on RIU, but I have recently upgraded my phone to the iPhone 10s 248gb. I now have plenty of room for everything and will be back to normal when it comes To posting here on RIU. SORRY MAN.

I can’t wait to see what these qb11s do during this cycle!! Thanks for the insight in posting pics.

I’ll give you an update as to gpw tomorrow, I have to do the math and it’s too late tonight for me. I like 3k as much as I like 4K, that’s why I mixed my rigs with 3k and 4K. I loved how everything turned out with the intense leaf strip/defoliation technique and I will be doing it this round a well. This run I plan to strip all bud sites below the 2nd trellis and all the fan leafs. I would recommend this technique to anyone only if you have maximized your canopy space. Cheers buddy.

I’m hoping to unlock some characteristics that I didn’t get in my last round, like more color, Frost, smell and yield. Lol. I’m really just hoping to be able to notice that it did help so I won’t feel like I wasted money on colored LEDs. Also I have ordered HLG’s new qb96 v2 elite light engine and will be adding it to the center of my qb324 rig as soon as it arrives. Do you have any recommendations as to where I can find some info on reds/blues, I’m hungry for information right now. Lol. Cheers!

I've added a few pdfs about blue, green, red and far-red light and a few more about leaf temps and emerson effect. I would recommend to use a bit of far-red over the day and not only for EoD treatment. It does a few useful things and you only need a little to make it work. I'm using far-red from end of the stretch but for smaller indikas you can use it from the beginning to get slightly longer internodes for instance.

I have now ~7,5w above my small 2x 4' area, thats only ~20μMol/s/m² but believe it or not there is a visible difference with or without. Leaves get slightly bigger compared to 3000°k only and internodes are a bit longer but stem thickness stays the same. I would try it with ~15w 730nm above the test area with the next run to have something to compare with. One time with added blue and deepred and one time with blue, deepred and far-red.

The qb96 elite are nice little beasts if they only would be available here.. I don' believe there is a darker area in the center but it would also not hurt or causing a center hotspot. Maybe higher center readings but for sure no hotspot.

I’m adding the qb96 to the center so I can push the spread out on the boards a few more inches, which in turn will leave the center a little low. My qb324 rig is slightly under built to cover a 5’x5’ area to my knowledge, hints the adding of the qb96. My qb324 rig is running at 640 watts and after I add the qb96 it will be at 760, which I feel will be slightly better for a 5’x5’ screen. After takin readings with my par meter I’ve notice slightly lower readings in the edges of the screens.

Do you currently have a garden up and running, if so please share some pics? Thank you for the info you posted above for colored LEDs. Cheers!!

Over this past weekend I did a little plant maintainence in the garden and would like to share a few pics. My partner “okie” and I call this specific maintainence the “leg shave”. I ask that no on take offense to the name “okie”. My partner and I have a grow we go 50/50, totally different location than my personal grow, on in all aspects from bills to plant maintainence. We call our partnership “okie and bean productions” lol! Any way back to the subject of shaving the ladies legs....

Pre leg shave can be seen below:

I typically apply this leg shave technique a few days prior to setting my lighting timer to flowering hours 12/12. Now that I have finished the leg shaving I wait a few days for the ladies to heal up and get back to their normal uptake of water before setting the timer to flower. This technique slows the plants down for 2-3 days in perspective to water uptake. Once I feel the ladies are back to normal I will flip to flower, which should be this Wednesday or Thursday. I can’t wait to start the count down! Cheers everyone!!

Gpw came out to 1.15 to my calculations. Lol I don’t know if that’s good or bad but I was happy with my harvest.

Just finished the current run and harvesting them already but there are still a few left I can show you. They look a bit strange because of a genetic defect(yellow stripes on the leaves) and since 5 days they got no more water anymore.
It was a Superlemonhaze + Bubba'sGift run(8x SLH + 7 BGs in 3gal fabric pots with soil) with a short SLH skunk pheno, plants are only 20-24" high so I "leg shaved" only around 6". BG's are already half way dry and went into the fridge for curing. 4 SLHs are chopped yesterday and the rest will follow today.

@Randomblame looking awesome over there, I can only imagine what aroma comes off of those flower!! Can you describe it as lemon fuel? I too am curious as to curing in the refrigerator, can you describe what that does for the flower? Looks like it will be a plentiful harvest. Lastly I like to ask what you are using for your lighting source?

Here are a few pics of some side/tester plants for my personal head stash

The left black pot is a Dosido cut gifted to me by a good friend, he tells me it’s the NorCalCut. The right black bot is Hot Rod, which I have ran before and is incredible smoke. I have a 4 other side/tester plants that I will have to upload pictures of later as I do not have any in my phone, but the other side/tester plants are Purple City Genetics Thin Mint Cookies, Pie Face, Dark Hearts Nursey Dosido and lastly Dark Hearts Nuresy Gelato.

Yeah, they smell clearly skunk with a lemon touch and hints on cat piss and patchouli. Pretty strong and biting. One half is already dry enough to put them in paper bags for another few days and tomorrow the 2nd half is dry enough then they go in a card box and in the fridge for at least three weeks.

I'm using the fridgerator mostly because of the smell. I life in an 8 apartment house and the smell is the most important thing to think on just because it rings all the time, lol. Do you ever have an egg and some milk, please ..? Can you take my mail when I'm on vacation? O.G., I have flooding in the basement .. can you help me with the new washing machine?
Something is always and fridge is probably the safest area in the whole apartment.
The healing works very well in the freezer at ~ 0°F, everything heals very evenly and residual moisture also evaporates slowly. Only make sure it's defrosted and dry otherwise it will not work properly and ice will form on the buds surface.
However, they lose a lot of their aroma unfortunately and everything you take out smells almost the same. Thats the only downside for me but on the other hand almost all chlorophyl gets converted into sugars and it tastes extremely smooth.
I can only recommend to try it out with a small card box. You could cure on half like ever and the other half in the fride to have something to compare. You can use the brown paper bags or card boxes from corrugated cardboard. Fill them completely but don't press the buds in. The moisture evaporates thru the paper and for this to work the environment must be dry.

When you click the links in my signature you can see my current lights. I have built myself a cabinet with a 28x 50" bloom- and a 28x 14.5" veg area. Above the veg area is a small space for germination or cuttings.

There is a reveging Bubba'sGift currenly inside the veg chamber. Above my bubble cloner.

And this is an old fabric cabinet I've modded years ago to use it for breeding pouposes. It is currently used to veg and meanline a few new strains. FLTR its a BlueDream, a Amnesia x BlueDream(test cross), a GreenPoison x BlueDream(test cross), a Columbian gold landrace(a bit slower like the other 4) and a SuperSilverHaze. Around week 4 and topped above the 3rd node. Lowest shoots are removed and the 2nd set of shoots I will cut later and make cuttings of it.

Now it's time to clean up and dispose all of old dirt for the last time. I'll use the winter break to change finally to a coco DTW system. It's always a PITA to get rid of the dirt..

Stealthy RB, amazing...if you do go with coco, how are ya gonna go on holiday !
Yeah, the whole cabinet has a 20mm styroform layer and the exaust fan has his own soundproofed chamber.
~38db at 1m distance when closed with exaust fan on max. measured with 2 different smartphones. Its a 6" exaust dimmed to max. 50% to reduce sound emissions and has a build in temp sensor/controller. If the temps stay below the set value -in my case 30°C- the speed is reduced further down to the set minimum value.

Don't know if I understand it in the right way but with a big rez it's all doable. I'll use such a Wilma System you see below but with an external 60liter rez and the build in reservoir is used to collect the drain. With up to 10 plants this should last for 1-2 weeks depending on the current state of the grow. With a 3-4 week rez I would probably need something like a PH controller to avoid the solution from drifting too much. But its all doable.
