here is my my andvanced led light so far i am very happy with it its a 250 watt light from advanced led lights .com they dont make this light any more then i have a 120 watt ufo in my veg room theese light are kinda exspensive but i also think you get what you pay for i just installed a mover a couple of days ago this is my first grow just always wanted a hobby now i found it any advice would be helpfull
its just at 4 weekes flowering yes its just the led light
The pics are in! I think there's a diode out in the center of the panel, it never lit up right outta the box. What sucks is I need this light in there right now, so idk how I'd be able to send it in for repair.

best advice I can give is to use another light source...not worth the money and lack performance
Hope it helps

Very nice man! I hope in the future to be 100% led myself. How many watts are the bulbs in those?
Totally disagree. Standards lamps aren't worth the heat/ventilation issues, AND the main fact that you are more likely to be caught via police helicopters looking for hot spots. If you have the money it's waaay the best choice, IMO.
Call Benjamin at Hydrohut and tell him the issue, send him an email with the image and my knowledge of the warranty is that he will send you a replacement unit like a hire car whilst yours is being fixed. But insist on telling him you are in a grow right now and need a replacement....well thats if you want the extra light on them. OR just tell him you want a straight replacement.
Hey - I have this exact model. They centre light is UV so it only appears to be off. There's even an FAQ on their website mentioning this fact.
I've been using Ceramic metal halide 400watts for veg because they perform better that normal 600watt metal halides. Also after veg period I've been using Philips 600watt hps greenpower for flowering a 4 x 5 area, in my opinion this has been the best combination that I have came across and I have been growing for years. Well here's the kicker,,,I've recently purchased the 240watt Blackstar VEG model with 2 and 3 watt chipsets, just to see how it compares with my CMH for vegging. Being a cynical kind of person, I am now eating my own words of doubt about led's, this 240 led is fu**ing unbelievably good at Vegging, I ain't seen anything like it before, I'm gonna bite the bullet and buy 2 of the 500watt flowering models to see how they perform, very exited, oh just a little note about these led, the 12000k whites in them peak at 440Nm,,,, even higher output than blue led's. Work it out![]()
I have completed 3 grows using a UFO 90 and, now finishing a 4th. Great for 1-2 short plants. What I learned from using it is that there is a 600 pound gorilla I did not think about- when the bulbs lose their intensity you cannot replace them. At some point my entire investment becomes trash.
And if you believe the bulbs (or more probably the power supplies) maintain their intensity from day one until the moment they fail, I have a bridge I want to sell you. The industry needs to address simple plug in DIY replacement (or price them as disposable) before they will be truly viable.

Use a hps, ditch your reflector and grow vertically.
NWI: The data is as difficult to find as who the players are behind the NWO lol
About a year ago I realized that my UFO 90 was insufficient to grow more than one decent short bush. After 2 power supplies blew (replaced under warranty- try to get that from ebay) I began to realize how expensive my $370 mistake was, but was still smitten.
I began to research LEDs and came across several DIY threads. These guys are out on the edge and beyond. They pointed out the problems with inferior power supplies and bulbs not coming close to spec. For the most part their light fixtures were easily fixable. I posed the question about actual life expectancy and was responded to thusly "No fair, you've been paying attention" Now in the 2 short years since my purchase, most of the mj light specific manufacturers have responded with better quality power supplies and bulbs but they are expensive on a watt vs watt basis, and will probably remain so, mostly due to high oil prices which effects the cost of all goods and services.
One blogger went so far as to cost the electrical savings over time, which indicated LEDs pay for themselves over time, but that does not factor in total replacement. Dirty electricity will impact power supply life- a sine wave power re generator is a good idea no matter which light path you choose ($$$). Unless/ until the consumer cost of elec goes through the roof, which is likely with or without a nuclear power revolt gaining momentum, the long term savings is negligible.
Let's go one step further: non-led users can quickly and inexpensively replace their bulbs; in my Bad Boy T 5 (HO-8 bulb) I can mix 2700/6500 bulbs to simulate light at spring planting through fall harvest. Is that a big thing? Maybe not, but if/when any single bulb goes out, I can replace it without needing to send the entire light back during a grow.
The real benefit I see is for personal use growers who can harvest several ounces using ~ 200 watts. Since I own it, I use mine to start seedlings/clones. I can start 10-12 seedlings under it. The lack of radiating heat is a benefit as is lack of stretch. I am finishing one plant under it now and have been very impressed by the tight PHAT nuggz and plethora of sticky trics coating all but the shade leaves. Come by my thread for a peek. I moved her back on ~ March 5th when she was just beginning to show trics. Weekly pics are posted up until last week. New pics this Saturday, which could be her last day before harvest.
IMHO, even if quality LEDs were price competitive, as they stand now, they are not as grower friendly
