A clone in an aeroponic system, in my opinion can't be given to much water for the first couple days. It takes about that long to seal itself off from the wound. Also you need to watch for embolisms (I think thats the word? just smoked a fat bone) which is when air gets trapped in the cut and water can't flow up the stem because the air is blocking it. You'll be able to tell because the stem tip of the clone will turn brown, then black. It's gonna die if that happens. When I cut clones, I always have a pitcher or distilled water with superthrive in it, and also hydroguard. I cut the clones as long as I can. The more leaf sets on the clone, the faster it can root. Also this allows me to hold the stem under water and make a second cut about an inch or two above where I made my first cut. This allows any trapped air to esacpe and leaves you with a watersealed cut. Then I take a razor, slice up the middle of the cut so it splits the stem in two for about a half inch to an inch depending on the size of the clone. Then I make diagnal cuts on each side of the stem underwater. Then I immediately dip the clone in clonex rooting gel for thirty seconds. Swish it around good, I dip as much as I can in there, then it goes in a neoprene plug and right into the misting cloner. The cloner has tapwater with a ppm of 160 a couple drops of superthrive 10 ml of hydroguard, and 2.5 ml of floragro.
