Looking for the perfect setup

I was looking at the
VIPARSPECTRA PAR600 600W 12-band LED Grow Light but have heard a lot of bad reviews about it for flowering... but also a lot of good reviews.. obviously i don't want to spend $250 on a light that i can only use for veg, someone here on the forum suggested i use this LED instead of 1000 watt HID/HPS and i calculated out the electricity bill and it would cut my bill about 60%... so it would really save me money but would i get a much larger yield out of a 1000watt HPS? I plan on posting another thread of my FULL set up but wanted to get some tips and suggestions on this VIPARSPECTRA light...

If i do go with the LED option, should i invest in multiple of the older version (1 switch non dimmable) or just get 1 600 watt of the newer 3 switch dimmable? i know if i have more than 1 ill have more coverage but i plan on having around a 3x3 or a 2x4 so coverage isn't that big of a deal because ill have a small space...Or any other LED's that work well that aren't an arm and a leg? heard good and bad reviews about mars LED's.. any knowledge is appreciated..

If your only going to be growing a 3x3 or 2x4 1000W would be excessive. I would look at a 315CMH above a Viperspectra. Don't really trust Chinese made full systems LED's especially when they slap on 600W when it's only a 285W draw

Multiband leds sound good on paper but are a joke. First each band produces it's own heat; higher heat bands often wipe out lower heat diodes next to them.

Neutral white leds are the way to go. They will grow and bud with uniform heat signatures (and life expectancy), but the better ones include red bands on a separate o/o switch to use during budding. See Amare Technologies

evens out in what you lost in yield. haha

If its a choice between HID lighting or cheap LED then HID and as stated above 315cmh suits your space to a T, has a great spectrum, is efficient. 1000w hps is too much, if its CMH is too dear then a 600w hps will be more than enough light and a 400w hps will light that area up fine too.
Stay away from cheap LED, go COB or Quantum board if you want LEDs that grow good.

I'd personally stay away from most Chinese blurple panels. Most of them have worst efficiency than hid and a worse spectrum.

A 315cmh for a 3x3 would be more efficient and had a better spectrum than hid or blurple leds.

Are you handy? If so, look into a diy cob or quantum board led build. If you stick with series wiring, it's very easy and you could put 300w in a 3x3 or 2x4 and it will beat everything else in efficiency and your plants will love IT.

BUT, If you want something plug and play, I'd definitely go with a cmh over blurple or hid.

Can't argue with most of the replies above and the advice you've been getting. 1000w seems excessive to me. I had a similar situation and did my own research on efficiency v yield and found it wasn't worth trying to penny pinch on lighting, so I settled with Migrolight LED's. Super results. Best of luck dude.

I use two 450w Viparspectra's and have never experienced any kind of problems,,great yields and tight nugs,daisy chained together,,veg switch and a bloom switch for flowering..............Plus easy on the electric bill,,I grow 4 plants in 7gal. pots works out fine....
