Nice plants man :) Pretty lab u have over there :) I'm thinking of trying out mainlining for 8 even tops next grow as well.. Since mainlining is a bit harsher than just topping above the 2nd node, I wonder how plants react to it..

It's only harsher by 2 more sets of topping. I've been reading that the best time to top plants is right before the lights come on because the growth hormones go to the roots during the night so you don't lose any in the topped growth (if you're topping for clones you want to do it during lights on so the plant has some of the hormones in the cut top). Gonna have to experiment with clones to see if that's the case.

Hey duck, has your clone recovered from you supercropping her by accident?

Plants looking good, can't wait till mine starts putting on some weight.

Looks like another EPIC run. Learning so much about training, thanks for the regular updates showing exactly how you do it. I have some LVBK babies just about ready for their first topping, kinda copying what you do exactly and it's great because the plants I am using are a week or two behind yours. Once again thank you for sharing your methods, and not only that but the thinking behind them too. The new knowledge is really much appreciated and will be put to excellent use!

Glad to be of help. I really want to start growing a bonsai.
Cu was hitting the cooltube and just being an unmanagable pain in the ass so she got culled. There's a few trichs way up at the top, not sure what to do with her.

I made some hash oil out of a few triched up males a few weeks back. Oil was surprisingly good, but not sure if it was worth the money for butane to be honest, incredibly small amount. I guess sometimes we have to cut our losses as much as it sucks.

The only problem she has is that spider mites apparently love her according to some friends who've grown the same clone as me.

Stella is big and bushy enough that I can't get her in and out of the grow without rubbing her. I sat down in front of a fan and moments later all the smell that rubbed off on me hit me in the face and I went "oh shit what's wrong with Stella!" before I realized it was me. And that I need to shower before I leave the house, but only right before because I think I smell delicious!
All of the seedlings have been topped for clones and are in flower. The DRs and the Jacks are on day 1 and the Midases are on day 2. Stella is on day 29 and the AK x JH is on day 32.
We'll start with the DRs.
I topped DR3 above the third node for a clone and to experiment with how many nodes I leave when I top. This round I did four plants with three nodes and the other two with two. Next time with seedlings I'll try four, five, and six nodes. I should get a female of each. The DRs are still in party cups because they were the last plants to go into flower and there wasn't space, they'll get upcanned to 1qt containers when they show sex.

DR4 topped for four UB style, one cola was starting to dominate so I trained it down but the other three are really even.

Both Jacks were topped above the third node.
Here's J0

Here's J1 (I've grown the strain J1 before and the smell of this reminds me of the J1, they're similar genetics so it's not surprising)

M3, I really hope this is a female, I've been super impressed with the vigor of these plants and this one seems more vigorous and less stretchy than the other one. I've noticed males tend to stretch more, but the father of these is a Trainwreck X Neville's Haze F2 bxed to the NH twice so stretch is probably going to be a relative term ::)

And M4 was topped for four

Here's the AK x JH 32 days in. I took off the bottom 3 nodes because they weren't going to amount to shit, I should have done that a few weeks ago before any energy was wasted.

Stella is still doing well. I MIR (flush and feed) the other day on her and the AK x JH because she was having a few issues on lower leaves and I wanted to make sure it wasn't a media problem because she shouldn't be having any deficiencies. If anything I should be feeding a bit less.

Here's Drue being female. I noticed that the STS I was using had developed somewhat so I made fresh and added another layer of tinfoil over the sprayer to keep light out. This morning I saw a few brown pistils so hopefully the fresh STS is working! I keep the room as dark as possible while spraying and do it about 30 mins before lights out so I can put him back in right after lights out so the brief interruption of darkness is kept to a minimum and has the least possible impact on the girls.

But there's still lots of female flowers starting.

M4 looks good but is nothing on M3 in terms of vigor. I'll be happy with either of them being female though! They were both way more vigorous than any of the other seeds I planted.

looks great. I had to lol about the smell, I got in bed last night and my wife asked wtf I was doing with my plant :) I guess the Cologne was too strong.

A better pic of Drue. Plant's are still looking good, just waiting on some pollen now. And of course lots more male flowers.

Midases are on day 6 other babies are on day 5 so we should be seeing sex on them soon. I really hope M3 is a girl.

sweeeet :) so to get those males on your plant you used that silver something? can you use one branch on the plant for pollen and then pollinate the plant it self? Or seeds would turn out pretty bad? I mean if I would want to make more seeds with the same genetics and traits from the female seeds I got, would that be possible?

You can self pollinate by doing one branch but I'd rather clip a clone and keep it in a tiny container hitting it with STS then pitch it after harvesting the pollen.

but would self pollinated plant produce same quality seeds? same phenos etc? i know u gave me that book to read on, this is still on my todo list, just jumping ahead with a quick question :)
