Mutated stems

Jeez, I have two one plant grows effected. Transciation or polyploid stems, what ever it is called. Does topping trigger it or something? I got one plant to look normal but now my 2x2 has it everywhere.

Will it grow messed up bud ? Is pruning it until it looks normal ok or would you just start over if you were actually hoping for good yield?

Photo period Super Shark attitude seeds, ffof just water every few days.

Mutant Cannabis

There are a number of mutations that can occur in cannabis, some very minor effect other than slight cosmetic differences, such as variegation or trifoliation, and yet others will exhibit more pronounced physical alterations to leaf and stem structure like what is seen in the Freakshow...

I figured it out, it is all explained in great detail there. Wow, polyploids are a crapshoot yet get two in a row, different strains. Time to start over AGAIN..

I see why it is nice to pop multiple beans and let them grow in a cup or somethin and see what they are before bothering any further.

I might just take the two grows down to setup a bigger grow, tired of small projects racking up bills.

That stem growth is normal.
Sometimes you get hollow ones, sometimes solid, some round, some not....
What you have going there is nothing to worry or be disappointed about, and no amount of trimming is going to change anything. Stop worrying and let the plant grow

stems mutated together? Says it is a sure sign of a polyploid and can grow male parts, messed up buds that rot easy, loads of uncertain future growth like bag seed on steroids. It said some mutations go away but not this one.

Says some mutations are minor but this one is true polyploid. If you think it is not based on these photos, I have another grow that surely shows the polyploid gene which this one is doing the same exact thing. Stem is totally a double.

I did prune the other plant and it looks normal for now and if you are saying it is worth growing out, that would be awesome but that site suggests ditching it.

Might just surprise you I would let her grow and maybe drop off the watering a little bit looks a tiny bit over-watered looking at that little bit of clawing downward and a touch nitrogen rich just a touch too much just my opinion hope it works it for you tho :bigjoint:

It looks totally normal to me, it just looks like it's been topped and is growing out two shoots

I didn't wanna be the one to say it 1st :wall:

but I was thinking the same thing, womder would the same thing happen if you cut your dimg dong off will the 2 nuts go there own way :-D

Yours looks like this..

Seed Phenotype?

17 days from sprout (2 weeks + 3 days) in a 1 gallon pot. Only feed once with 1/4 strength dose. Growing like crazy. 5 nodes excluding the cotyledon, 6th node in the making

Here is the branch from the other plant, the top has node splitting in two separate nodes. Never seen that before but will see how it grows, I have two journals for each plant.

I was following the style of just using tap water and top dressing when needed or every 30 days using ffof straight out the bag. Transplanted at two weeks, about two weeks into this pot. I was under impression not to change anything over minor things in soil.

I seen dark leaves before without pushing too much N. I water every 3-5 days, the journal has it better noted than off top of head. What would you suggest? Just curious.

Not incredibly normal but I'm sure it will do fine like I said just pick up a set of tweezers in the mean time incase you spot a few sets of nuts that are in need of a bit of plucking :bigjoint:

I mean if it was N toxic it sure seems like it but wonder how or why change anything in the media if it is designed to be ready to go. I usually see where that is how things go wrong, it twisted which means ph I read but I didn’t adjust my ph.

I am going based off growers who basically said this was an ok route to go. It also preyed too hard but read that is light sensativity so dimmed light but thats it.

Being honest my 2cents would be let her be make sure your not overwatering decrease nitrogen a few mls even see does the colour change at all over the course of 4 to 5 days I understand you are freaked out by the stems bit don't be sometimes little mutations like that go south and sometimes they might just be the best bud you have ever grown nature is amazing plant life is very resilient hence all the trees you see growing outside everywhere :-D

so little less water and small bit less nitrogen only a small bit less sometimes less is more mate touch back to the thread over the next few days of anything worse or changes

Looking at it now, it does look a bit nitrogen rich, it looks slightly overfed.
