My cabinet grow journal!

Its a pretty safe bet that by the time I finished reading that his grow would already be declared a failure, or busted, or both..
A couple cfl's won't provide much light beyond what leaks out for his dad to notice..:)

Born you already know that stuff anywho, but what your really saying is you were not gonna read it?I did learn somethings from ya tho like increased trics with the MH i was seeing it on my plants but thought it was just me, do you think it has any effect as far as taste using a MH v hps???I can see mom and dad in fight then divorce over a plant, lol.The reason im asking i swear my MH buds taste better than the HPS.One more question Born as you dont have a thread to just talk,Its about higher temps while lights are off lets say not the normal 10 degree drop and maintain relatively the same temp on and off are maybe even a little higher when the lights are off??

I'd agree fully about the all around appeal, but can't back it up with anything beyond anecdote.. I'll always have MH pumping away in my flower chamber..
I always found the best smoke from my table was from areas that were getting mainly (SunMaster) MH light, and not even that much of it, just enough to allow full maturity without defect..
The buds that got mostly MH light weren't as dense (but dense enough), and more flavourful.. Another thing I noticed was that they didn't smell nearly as much just sitting there, but REALLY pumped out odour when they were squeezed or tossed around..
(I realize all buds act like that to some extent, but these were nuts.. It may be due to the lower density I suppose)..

Any thoughts about the temp???thing as ive have found from just doing by keeping my temps contant are maybe even higher my plants seem to love the extra heat when the lights are off.WAS at 70f off and have been raising it to 80f and they seem to love it have you any thoughts are done any reading about this Higher temps lights off?? Would photosynthesis lol i no i didnt spell that right but you no the word,be increased??Are can you explain what it might have a effect on??

I really haven't taken much notice of temerature technicalities sorry..
Well, I guess I have noticed loose confirmation to the belief that >15° shift between light/dark slows growth overall.. Not much else though..

Ok guys back to business!!!LOL!!!

These pics are from last night, but i had some changes overnight.

I wanna start with plant #1, a good shot of the whole plant side, top, close up of new growth at top showing some serious glittery buildup on the leaves now. Also there are some shots of the preflower spots, the best i could get.

I still can't tell with this one, male or female?

Plant #3 is the pain in the ass. I can't get a good shot or view of this thing to save my ass, but i think it is leaning towards male.
Any guesses, or still too early for this one?

Plant 4 i have no pics for.........:joint:.........i forgot this one somehow,LOL!!!
I think this one is leaning female also, because it looks alot like #2 that is a female.

Plants 5-8 are all showing small signs of sex, but still too small to tell.

Here is some WW,PPP pics. and one of the big eight in their house.

Bring on the comments!!!!

i learned not to ask why, cuz it's usually either genetics or P deficiency, and read it alot on here.LOL!

Any idea on the sex of #3?

The fan stems are so long and the purple.

herya but ive never had anyproblems they seem to grow awesome when there purple I think imo its has something to do with nutes but not a def, cause almost all my plants havem but they got cold and that will do it too.

Today:
#2, and #4 are for sure females, had a visual confirmation of pistils this evening that made me smile ear to ear!!LOL!!!

But, I had to Pull #1 because overnight it produced clusters of balls about the top two or three nodes. It broke my heart to pull it out.......but i did scream sorry as i killed it, so it's all good......
Anyway, #3 is still undecided, but i don't have high hopes for it.

One question is:
Now that i am in flower, and want to focus on the "canopy", how much, how far down, or do i at all, do any trimming to rid out the lower growth?

Just my noob opinion, but the top right picture of #3 looks like female bits. I didn't trim any of my undergrowth, but I did tuck the fan leaves under the bud sites every morning... I think that there is probably some balance between pruning and tucking, with neither one being the ONLY way to do it.

Grow on my brother. :blsmoke:

It will become evident what has potential and what is wasting space.. Your sweet spot will probably be the top foot of your plants, but stuff below that can be really good too.. It'll be pretty obvious I think..

Hey man, thanks for checking out the journal I haven't talked to ya in a while!!! I think #3 looks female too, but some angles it looks like male. This plant was the first to show any signs but is taking forever to convert completly into male or female. I have had 2 other plants show 100% female in the time it took this one to show just the lil' bits of sex. I'm more of a trimmer, ask beech, lol!!!!! I think i'll just trim as needed of lower leaves.

Not a bad deal. It looks as though it must be hardwired. If it does need to be hardwired, is that difficult or costly?

I'm not sure what you are talking about?.......

Born, I'm just worried about trimming something that could potentially be a good bud. I heard you just trim off whatever is blocking light to lower growth, but then this eliminate leaf mass which is needed to feed the bud sites. Am i wrong?
