My first ever grow, indoors using CFL lighting, Random Bagseed.

First CFL Home grow! Experimento Magnifico Greeno! :leaf:

Nov 4th - Nov 7th = Germinate in paper towel from bag seed.

Built a 1.5 foot by 2 foot grow box lined with tin foil, constantly have a fan circulating

the air, average grow temperature of 29'C - 31'C. Decided that because Im using CFL lights, I

will put the plant on a 24 hrs a day light schedule. Lights cost next to nothing to operate

so why not.

Nov 7th - Nov 14th = In 6 inch (1.36 Gallon) Pot with 85 watts 4100k 2

CFL lights 1 40 watt and 1 45 watt), Sprout has 2 adult leaves fairly big with 3 more small

adult leaves appearing, 4 inch's tall looks very healthy. Soaked with water, will not water

again till soil dry.

Nov 14th - Nov 21st = Added another 13 watt 2700k CFL and plant doing alright not much new

growth though, been watering every 2 - 4 days almost letting the medium dry out before

watering again. I have been always more worried about over-watering than under-watering as I

have heard that is often the case with new growers. Plant starting to get droopy with

yellowing on bottom 2 fan leaves and brown crispy tips, and still not much growth, seems to

be stunted for some reason. I know water is not an issue PH between 6 - 7 (24 hr sit out Tap

water, reverse Osmosis distilled water, and Rain water) and I never let it get completely

dry. Did alot of research on internet and have come to the conclusion that I need to get

bulbs with 5500k - 6500k to give my plant more usable blue light, put a cup of water in

front of fan for added humidity, I opened up more air flow for my plant to breath and also

as a result lowered temperature and feed it more CO2. Also think my potting soil has run out

of Nitrogen or other nutrients so I am going to buy some 12 - 4 - 6 Miracle Grow all purpose

indoor plant fertilizer with micro-nutrients.

Nov 21st - Nov 28th = I guess I was right on with my research as soon as I added the

fertilizer the plant exploded with growth. Doubled in size in 12 hrs, and then tripled in

another 36 hrs. It looks very healthy now, and has caught up almost all the stunted growth

lol must have been a very hungry plant. Going to fertilize on a fertilizer, water, water,

water, water schedule, don't want to overdo it, but don't want the poor thing to go hungry

again. It has now grown at least 10 times the size it was before nutrients were added. I

have only been flushing with water every time it is nearly dry. Showing signs of slight

nitrogen toxicity but I think it should be fine as long as I keep watering a few more times

before nutrients are given again. Stem is very thick and sturdy and plant looks perky and

healthy.

Nov 28th - Dec 5th = Now under 1 - N5 45 watt 4100k, 1 - N4 40 watt 4100k, and 3 - 26 watt

6500k CFL. Combined lumens output 10400 lumens total. Added another sprout from bag seed to

the collection. Plant now 8 inches high 8 - 9 internodes, and really bushy, looks great and

very healthy. Sprout 1 inch out of the ground looks healthy. Pruned edges of nutrient burned

lower leaves. Growing steady everyday, no problems so far.

Dec 5th - Dec 12th = plant almost a foot tall, sprout has 4 fan leaves, both look great and

extremely healthy. Added another 2 26 watt 6500k cfls now a total of 13600 Lumens of light

output. The plant is so big and bushy, I want maximum light penetration to inner and outer

leaves. Wow, This time I gave the sprout nutrients before it would be hungry like my first

plant was, the sprout has now grown huge wide leaves, has not grown almost any upwards but

has ballooned in the last few days very wide leaves and pretty quick growth looks great. My

main plant has done nothing but surprise me. I was a little heavy on the nutrients so I had

been just giving it water for almost a week to ten days. It has grown massive, 14 inches

tall, and just really exploding with new leaves, branches, node after node. It has to be the

coolest looking and bushiest plant I have ever seen. I gave it some nutrients, as it looked

a little hungry. It is still growing huge, almost seems to never stop lol every time I look

at it has grown and sprouted tons more leaves and branches. Also I find it very strange, but

not going to think of it as a bad thing, but my plant still growing strong under 24 hrs of

light, has sexed on it's own without changing to the 12/12 cycle. It is a female! :) tons of

hairs coming out of the pistols and starting to get a slight shimmer of crystal on the newer

leaves and along the stem. I think Im going to try and get as much growth out of it before I

put it under budding lights and 12/12 light cycle. I don't think i'll be able to get more

than a week more vegging out of it, as I don't want the thing to fall over lol. I am extatic

at how this has gone for my first crack at it, with bag seed as well so I will keep on it,

and hope this lady gives me some killa bud in a couple or few months. Forgot to mention that it

was way too tall for my initial grow box, has been moved into my closet and made a new light

setup to make up for it's height.

Dec 12th - Dec 17th = Put the plant under 12/12 and 2700k CFL's. plant at about 18 - 19

inches high. Hairs starting to shoot out of pistols farther forming bud, having a few

troubles with getting a proper blooming nutrients. Just now ordered FoxFarm Trio soil

nutrients, should work great. Other plant has been transplanted to bigger pot, it is now

about 4 - 5 inches tall great big green leaves, look's really good.

Dec 17th - Dec 24th = Sprout needed some nutrients, have started to give both plants Epsom Salt

water as well as Blackstrap molasses. Plant is over 2 feet tall and budding well under

12/12. Hoping my Foxfarm trio gets here soon so I can give my plant proper flowering

nutrients.

Dec 24th - Dec 31st = Sprout 6 - 7 inches tall, put it under 12/12 so it is not so tall

as my first one lol. The thing is huge with huge side colas and a massive main top. The

plant is 42 inches high with tons of tops and bud growth. White hairs are shooting out from

all pistols and tops. I now have 8 - 26 watt of mixed spectrum ( 6500K/2700K ) and 2 - 40

watt of each spectrum placed the length of the plant and most sides. I also ordered some

Mylar sheets to put in for more efficient use of light, but this should work fine for now. Didn't

get my shipment of Foxfarm products yet, Christmas delays :(.

I went and picked up some Miracle grow 15-30-15 till I get my Tiger Bloom. Still watering

with blackstrap and Epsom. I can't wait to see this plant in a few weeks. Note to self, put

plants in a bigger pot, I'm sure mine is root-bound. I know it will be fine, I just have to

pay close attention to it, and water and give nutrients often. Okay so had to leave my house for a few days for Christmas and there was

no one I could trust to turn lights on/off and water. I did some research and just left both plants in the dark with air circulation. When I

returned 2 1/2 days later my FoxFarm Trio arrived, and to my surprise my girl did really well. About 45 inches high with a few nice long bud

stems all around. Except for a few yellowing and crisping old bottom fan leaves she looks great. Healthy green leaves and buds are

developing very well all over the plant. I am fairly sure my other plant has sexed now and it's a male... Yaaaay... Not lol. So I tossed that

one. I am waiting for some Feminized Auto-Flower plants to arrive from the UK so that should work out much better, now that I know all

that I know now. I have learned alot from rollitup.com as well as some trial and error in these 2 - 3 months. I will be flushing the soil with

distilled water, then start on low doses of Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom. Great looking plant will will post picture's of the pretty girl asap.

I will be updating this journal weekly and hope to post some picture's from about 3rd - 4th week till now.

No, I was looking for one but I was told that alot of CFL bulbs are not meant for use with timers? Or is it just Digital timers? Anyway it was my first time, and did not want to cause a short or anything. I will be getting one for sure for my next crack at it.

I had a roommate loser:dunce: who decided to be a fuckin prick and destroy my plant and rip my lights out my closet:cuss::wall:. He's lucky he's not a dead man if you ask me. Took tons of restraint on my part, and well Karma's gonna smoke his ass one day sooner or later:fire:. I have moved and am now starting an autoflower indoor grow ( Barneys Farm Auto - Critical Rapido ) lol I live to fight another day, and did gain great knowledge and know how over the few months so at least it wasn't a total loss. Cheers :bigjoint:

Wow dude, that one sativa streched like a mofo..... how tall is it overall? 5 ft?
Might i make a suggestion for your next go around? Top your plant and LST it. make a bush. If you had all of the buds at the same height in the canopy you can get all your lights closer to it and increase the effectiveness of your light source. Also, 29c/31c (84/88f) is waaaay to hot for your plants.

I got a Super Lemon Haze that i had to top and LST, its the most sativa i got. Started flowering same day you did (dec 12)
All my plant tops are between 9-12 inches from my lamp and i maintain 74-78f with lights on.

heres a shot of it last thursday

I agree on the stretching part. A combo of heat and lights probably did it. I used to have the same problem when I used CFL, I use leds now since after a few harvests had a lil something to invest and haven't looked back since, I would def suggest a different light for flowering if you can help it. Happy burnin

Thanks for the advice, I have learned alot from the people on here it's been great. Also I didn't have the plant in the box after 3 - 4 weeks it was moved to the closet where the temp was 21 - 25 degrees C. I should have topped it but I'm a newbie and didn't want to screw with it until I knew more about what I was doing. It was def a good introduction for me to start. Cheers and happy burnin as well :)
