Fishing the surfs, jetti and bays in saltwater has been a nice trade off though. Red drum are great fish to go on a plate. It is a bit of an ordeal to get there though... especially beach fishing.

It took me a solid year just to learn how to effectively fish off the beach. I do enjoy it quite a bit though. Very peaceful if you can find a good spot free of trash. A buddy with a landrover solves that problem.

If you like doing that kind of stuff, I would recommend going up to the boundary waters. You'll be telling great stories from that trip for the rest of your life. It's amazing!
