I smoked the pastrami yesterday. I ended up wrapping it in foil when it hit the stall as it was taking a long time and I didn't want it to dry out. It was the flat cut so not as much fat as the point. I haven't decided if it will be hot or cold sandwiches yet. I'm leaning hot with just mustard on rye.

Made some rye bread today for sandwiches later at moms.

Couldn’t pick between carbonara and funghi so funghi with bacon and extra bacon and extra champignon on top. Served with grated parmasan.

I hate these plates. Good size and shape, heavy and I like the uniform colored but gets more smeary than white. The two largest grocery chains here often compete with incentives like saving up for pans and kitchen knives / cutlery. High quality stuff for next to nothing, like the japanese steel knives I posted recently. Also the crystal wine glasses glass, I broke one a few days ago. And thus these plates too. Anyway, there’s no moral to this story. Maybe that I like the combination of cheap and quality but then who doesn’t... we have a saying in Dutch that goes “wants to sit front row for a dime” and I imagine it’s something companies made up to encourage people to pay too much for too little. It’s not working on me. I want 30-dollar plates for 5 bucks… per pair.
