Noob hydro rdwc nutes

It may be a point of preference but I'd love to hear what you guys and gals think is the best/easiest/cost effective nutes for an rdwc setup thanks!!

From what I`ve read so far is that Advance Nutrients is expensive and have good marketing strategies. I`m currently using it and I wonder if I can switch up brands when I start to flower?
Advance Nutrients may be great, and I love they have their product PH Balanced but I can`t keep my DWC PH at 5.8 no way! My city water is 7.04 or something. Right now it`s sitting at PH 6.7.

I`m currently looking for cheaper alternative because if I follow Their Advcance Master Grower super deluxe grow kit it`s going to cost me 225$ CND

I was literally just researching them and they say the ph is very stable yet other ppl say it's over priced, I was looking at aqua flake too it's an overload of conflicting info so I'm looking for someone experienced in this field as well

Lol my man!! Advanced is one of my favorites but that is my personal experience with it.
I run all the way to the grandmasters line for years and I mean even through the new recipes I still love it.

Now that being said the new recipes don’t seem to have as great of a pH buffer. I’ve noticed the new batch is drift due to water evaporation and perspiration through the foliage.

Now when you top off your reservoir are you using RO or TAP.
I would suggest adding 25%-50% concentration of nutrients to help buffer the Reservoir.

You can always add ph down, but do know if you do this too often you’ll lock out nutrients since it has Neutralize some of the other compounds to make the mix less alkaline.

Never add the pH down or up directly to the reservoir I would say 30 mL (ph down - general hydro) to every 1500 mL (RO water) that will affect your parts per million probably by 10 ppm’s if you add an additional 1500ml of RO water it should reduce the additional 10ppm.

Do you proceed with caution when chemically balancing because you may build a potassium toxicity while Making for deficiencies..

It’s a balancing act and as you continue to learn the different characteristics of the plants you’ll understand the nuances in the needs of certain strains happy grown brotha!

Advanced Nutrients' Sensi Bloom can be used for both veg and flowering. So, costs can be kept lower by not bothering to use their Sensi Grow for veg. If growing in soil, all that's needed is the Sensi Bloom (A&B), Carboload and Overdrive. CalMag is always good to have on hand. There's a very good feed schedule with these AN Products listed here. Don't let the fact that this schedule has been posted on an autoflower site deter you. It can be used for photos as well. As far as running this feed schedule with DWC, I'm currently using a modified version of this schedule in an RDWC set up with the inclusion of Tarantula, Sensizyme and their Cal Mag Xtra.

@Exodus79, before deciding to use AN, I did a lot of research about AN's pH Perfect line and what I found was that the people that had the most problems / complaints about their pH levels were the people that insisted on checking their pH. I think that if you stop checking your pH and let the product do what it's made to do then your pH issues will be a thing of the past. The pH from my tap is a little over 7. I've had zero problems and I've never checked the pH of my res.

Incredible mixture, PH balanced, and for the 2 parts (jacks part a, cal nitrate part b) it's less than 150 to ship 20 pounds each ... which will feed over 3000 gallons. All you have to add is the epsom salts and good to go. Even buying that from Jacks (a little more expensive than the cheapest) you get an incredible deal.

I hear what you`re saying, I`m green to this and it`s by these forums that I learn. Can`t say from experience because i haven`t even made a harvest before.
It`s just that AN has 3 different products for roots, 3 different for buds etc.. Everybody what`s the best for their plant so they will buy the best, which that leads to buying them all from someone green ( new) like me, and that`s 11 extra different AN products to purchase. I`m not bashing AN for their quality, but they can surely lead you in

I totally understand what you're saying. Even though AN has three products for roots, in DWC you're going to want to use, at the very least, Tarantula for the microbes, Carboload to feed those microbes and Sensizyme to help keep the res from getting funky. Other than that, it's just the Sensi Bloom A&B. Not using combinations of their other products (Big Bud, Bud Candy etc) won't cause your crop to fail. They won't hurt but they're certainly not needed. So, for me it's well worth any extra money that AN may cost so that I can avoid the added hassles of checking and adjusting pH, buying up and down fluids, pH calibration fluid, pH pen, pen cleaning fluid, diagnosing deficiencies etc etc.

Nutrients should last past their exp date. Usually if it goes bad it will smell like ammonia. I would also get PH up and down plus the liquid ph tester. If you prefer a electronic ph meter do not get a cheap one they are inaccurate even when calibrated. Compare next to a blue lab or expensive milwaukee(not the cheap yellow ones) and you can see why. If you cant afford an expensive PH meter then stick with the liquid testing kit. the liquid testing is actually very accurate. You don't really need cal mag unless you are using RO water. Start with half strength and slowly work up with any nutrient when growing mj. All the other additives nutrient companies sell are usually just money gimmicks. I have had great experiences in hydro using the lines GH, Botanicare, and Fox Farm. Any nutrient company will work for the most part. I have nothing against AN except they are way overpriced. I'm embarrassed how much cash I have wasted years ago on all these additives that actually did nothing.
