What nutes do you run in the Hempy, Coach? I've read a lot about the Lucas Formula with these. Can you please take a picture of the side of the cup and how you have it setup? I'm really curious aboyt the Hempy method.

I'm running the technaflora starter series (ill break down what's all in that when its sitting in front of me)
hempy couldn't be easier...but ill give u a mini step by step...

medium-I use 100% perlite (check out the world of hempy thread for dif mediums) I'm in a really dry climate but inside my buckets would take too long to dry out so perlite works for me...a little advice on perlite: don't have it shipped. Last batch I bought came almost completely crushed...still usable but not ideal

container-I go from a peat plug to a solo cup with one hole about two inches or so from the bottom...fill with perlite and water until you get run off out the hole...you will see a big growth spurt when the hit the reservoir you created with the hole...then it's time to move to a bucket...I prefer 3.5gal

really isn't much to it but I like it...

so short answer...hole two inches from bottom of container

Thank you very much!!!

I grow organically in soil but I'd love to try this with Botanicare nutes in a side x side with soil ising the same strain. I would think the Hempy would do well here in CO.

share your soil, nutes, and technique.

Soil: Soil.jpg

My technique: (Ideal structure, seed) Toss seeds into water cup for 24 hours, toss seed (with small tail) into RR's. Once a good root system is established I transfer to 16 oz cups, then when the root structure is complete on that pot, move to 1 gal, then to 3 gal smart pot to finish.
(weak structure, seed) Toss seeds into water cup for 24 hours, toss seed (with small tail) into RR's. Once a good root system is established I transfer to 16 oz cups, once roots are established in the cup, I top once, transfer into a 1 gallon days later, then lst until I have various tops (6-12), then transfer into a 3 gal smart pot to finish.
Clones: After they root in the RR's, I transfer them into solo cups, (sometimes at this point I will just 12/12 from rooted clone in a 1 gal, and often times get good results) but most times I will transfer into a 1 gallon days later, then lst until I have various tops (6-12), then transfer into a 3 gal smart pot to finish.

Can you describe how you use molasses? I am looking for an alternative to Sweet and think Molasses just might be a better way to go. Botanicare is being phased out in my grow in favor of Jack's, but the verdict is not yet in as to results. Just to avoid being a brazen thread-jacker, here is a pic of my cups. 6-4-2013 seedlings.jpg But they will be moved to netpots in a week or 2 to participate in a medical experiment, so they won't get to participate in the competition, they will have to be content to enjoy the trash talk while waiting to see whose cup reigns supreme.

Some will say to start using molasses in veg, but I start when I flip to 12/12.

Essentially I start with as little as a "drip" then move my way up to 1 TBS per gallon, and even in some cases 2 TBS per gallon at the maximum.
I personally use Brer Rabbit,

but horticultural molasses is better for your plants. But, anything that is non-sulfured molasses will work.

Monday bumpdate!
She is still in her 9oz cup and about ready for the big dawg 18oz final resting place! I added a little organic b and piranha and tarantula to the last watering to keep the root zone nice, healthy and moving along!

I had this huge thing typed up, but since my phone is full fucking retard I can't post a pic right now so fuck you iPhone fuck you in your stupid asses!

pics later I'm not waiting for an upload like its sting tickets or something! Full bars! Anyone else notice a difference in upload from the camera roll vs the photostream?

Lol! I know what this may look like, but it is getting transplanted, there is a bottom of the cup!

So here is my little entry. She (hopefully) spent a few too many days under a VERY intense LED. I've now moved them all into "intensive care" under one of my T5s so I'm looking forward to all of them greening back up and taking off nicely. At least once it gets back in action it will have two mains. :D

OK, come on folks....POST YOUR PICS!!!!:mrgreen::mrgreen:

Pretty cool little grow off you guys got goin on. Kinda like a chili cook off lol. Good readin.

Coach.... I do hempy , started some 12/12 a little before you guys started this friendly grow off. Anyways read your post about the perlite you ordered, so if you ever travel down my way(100 miles southwest of denver) we got a perlite factory that supplies some of the top greenhouses in the country, real good quality bro and cheap, like $7-8 for huge bag (30-35 lbs.) Most grow stores here in So. Colo carry it, triple the price though lol. Thought I let ya know if your ever down this way. Nice thread guys and good luck to everyone! These are 5 wks on 12/12 from seed.
