Roku is free but all the good apps you have to pay for. Hulu is 100$ a month for the plan that gives you live television. Probably best TV streaming on Roku. The non-100$ hulu plan has no streaming TV.

Netflix and HBO each have a separate pay-for apps for watching movies, decent collections, no rental fees.

VuDu and Amazon Prime are for renting new release movies, and old movies that are catalogued, many more choices than hbo/netflix, with no subscription fee. Most movies are $5 a piece.

That's all you need.

Every other channel/app is either a waste and only has b-movies or has commercials. There are a few others like disney +, apple TV, roku channel, paramount, amc, etc, but really not worth it.

Roku, the little device you need shouldn't be more than 40$
I got $10 Hulu for shows, $10 ad free Peacock (live soccer). And a VPN for $10/mo for Utorrent covers all other media!

I won't spend $100 on anything. Well... almost anything ;-)

Hulu I wouldn't waste a dime on. Netflix and HBO LOVE TO JACK THE SUBSCRIPTION. Expect yours quick. You can waste your money on Vudu and Amazon Prime but i won't.

i outlined the real savings. You are promoting spending as much as Direct TV which went from $35 a month to $135 a month.

Big picture

I think long form television & movies are on their way out period. Once AI really hits & we get augmented reality contact lenses (not the big stupid headsets).

Why watch an actor in a movie, when you can live in your own AI generated version of a perfect entertainment reality, catering to all your specific desires/wants/needs.

Movies & TV will go the way of Opera. A thing we used to do. Someone in the future reading this like "Yup, nailed it" ;-)

Best streaming devices ime have been gaming consoles but a bit spendy if gaming mfs not your thing lol. Rokus work fine, so do chromecasts, you just link your phone to the tv adapter and it plays through it
