Onyx Grow Bloom vs Area 51 RW-150 Gorilla Glue #4 Grow

Nice merry go round scrog technique. I was thinking of doing pretty much the same thing before running into the thread.

Update on the Octopot with a lesson learned. You need some nice established roots before filling the res. I did a top soak when I transplanted the GG#4 and after the pot started to dry out after 4 or 5 days I filled the res about half way. The plant stalled and she got that over watered look so I emptied the res then after she dried up a bit I gave her small measured waterings from the empty res. After she started to take off I watched the cone on the bottom everyday till I saw roots and I then started filling the res. As you can see she has really taken off so I decided to throw a scrog screen in. Took a couple pics of the res and roots and one of the screen plus the day one transplant pic of 9 days ago.

Fucking killer capt.
So what is your impression of no lenses/cover on the onyx so far?

The real GG#4 got picked up by darkheart...so I will get the cut soon.

I like the Onyx panel,it's made with quality parts and a good price for what you get. The only problem I see is the small size of the light which makes the footprint a little tight. They were using that heatsink on their aquarium version so I think they just used it for the hort version, they probably need that tight footprint to penetrate water but may be better served to increase it's size for the hort version. Running it bare has increased it's footprint for sure and I like what I see so far.

Your going to love the GG#4,I even passed on getting a girlscout cookie cut about 6 weeks ago because I have the glue and was told GSC is not a good yielder and the glue is.

Octopot update after 15 days. Just did some tucking of the GG#4 on the screen and changed the timers for 12/12 starting tomorrow. Some serious growth for 15 days even with the stalled growth in that 15 days.

Hey captain loving the grow, I was thinking about the Onyx tonight, and you say you are getting 875 uMole at 10", but I was wondering if you had done another grid layout like you did the first time.

I was just wondering the outer reaches of the light, seeing as how I have a 2x2 with an Onyx in there and it's sitting at 20" but I see that it needs to go higher based on your chart I feel like I am getting the sub 100 uMOle at my edges, but there isn't that much height I have left, so really considering taking off the panel as well but just wondering the par at those edges at 10" above....that would be absolutely wonderful with a gIant SCROG TREE or maybe even a V scrog and the route I would go for sure. Thanks dude

I can do some grid numbers after I chop,I'll get you a rough number for 10" down and 12" from center if you want by free handing the sensor over my plant.

Just to let you know, the bottom cover holding the lenses can't be removed without either cutting the power wire inside and re soldering it or like I did was to cut the cover around the power connection.
