"The ph of the water will effect the seedlings uptake of micronutrients that are water soluble and are stored in the cotyledon for the first week or two."

"ph of water will effect the seedlings uptake of micro nutes...." That's exactly what I said.

The geat thing about water grows is that unless you flux in ph is straight piped itll still grow gems. I fly to 8ish and dont bat an eye.

I add 50ml every refill so help or not its not a huge deal. And within that two week time frame it would be kinda hard for me to know at what time to add down so this way it seems to work for my setup. 50ml is cheap, in the scheme of things. But i think were all on the same page here, PH helps plant absorb nutes, if there are no nutes to uptake, ph is a mute point.

What can i say your water is better than mine lol. That was the biggest issue i had when i started. And the stuff i bought at the hydro store was even worse!!! I was reading post of people adding drops and i was adding like 150 ml. Crazy huh lol. I've got it now dialed in using tap water. Perhaps someday I'll invest in RO but for now its all good with what i have. No plumbing in the shed!

Just go to show how different everybody's grow is. A simple thing such as base water can cause the same plant to grow completely different. I have been accused of having magic water by a few grower friends that have my strains, they get close but never my yield or quality.

We use well water here .... Ph 8+. Our water is so hard around here that I used to get in trouble for throwing rocks during water ballon fights. =)

i adjust ph to 6.2 add nutes and forget about it til plants get a little droopy cause they've sucked the bucket dry.(thanks to super stoner for informing me that I am doing this backwards, however, so far no problems after years of doing it this way, so until a problem occurs , I'm an old dog.)

Yup mines 8.2 out of tap. I get it to 5.8ish for veg with 50ml to 130l and it pretty much stays there, rising ever so slightly. Its my second year doing this (13 runs) and doing ok. But things could always be better lol. No root issues, no dead plants, the odd mutant lol. I need to clone and get things more consistent. Havent found that special one yet!!!

I wished I had a millimeter measuring stick so I could realize how much "stuff" you use... We have to go by tea and tablespoons!

A half cup is 125ml i think. So around a quarter cup. Lots huh?? Again it was one of my biggest issues when i started. I was worried that things were really screwed up. The crap from the hydro store was very weak and i was putting in a 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup to get it down. Things seem to be ok though. RO i guess is optimal but logistically difficult.

I'm not sure what the stuff I buy is. Its a black jug with a ph down sticker on it! I buy it from a nute manufacturer close to my location. Also and please everyone dont slam me lol I use sulphuric acid (you know stuff that goes in batteries). There's lots of recommendations on this and other sites. Fyi i dont use the sulphuric acid much, just in a pinch.
