Question about pistils.

I don't think so, just bend it over and tie it down, stand back and wait for bushiness.

oops, I answered a ? from pg one, thinking that was the end.

OK, now I've read it all. To LST, you don't just anchor her down, you want to grab the top and bend it down as far as you think it can go safely, and then tie it down to a weight or you pot edge, then all your side growth will turn into main colas.

As far as the spots, I dunno. Look carefully at the underside of leaves for any bugs. Do you have fungus gnats? You'd see those flying around and walking on the soil. If no bugs, maybe did you spill some nutrients on it? The plant seems pretty healthy, I wouldn't trip unless it starts spreading, and then.......FREAK OUT! No, I'm just kidding, read up the stickies in MJ Plant Problems forum.

8 weeks is way too long to not see any preflowers, may I ask what strain? Preflowers develop when the plant is mature enough to start flowering - regardless of the photoperiod. Switching to 12/12 will speed the process up, but you can actually get preflowers easily under 18/6 or even 24 hours of light. Of course this depends on genetics and environment...

Most outdoor plants should be loaded with preflowers right now, and flowering is still weeks away.

the plant looks fine ... nice and healthy...
it looks a lot like my sativa dominant AK47 although mine was a lot shorter because i have a 600mh..
it was the slowest grower out of 17 plants i had .. and when i flowered them the sativa dominant one had about the same growth as yours now..

i hope you make room for flowering because she sure will stretch ... you WILL need another light then because one wont cut it for its height..

depending on how long you want to wait .. im sure if you flower now you can get a nice bit of pot depending on strain and lights.. i would bend the top over as much as you can wthout braking it ... do it in both directions for a couple of days then flower...

as for the spots .. i have no idea... nothing to worry about yet.. looks nice.

Took some new pics about to post em. Seeing if anyones up did some LST not sure if the top of the plant is getting enough light now :[ I'm such a novice I'm worried about her dying.

Just showing the LST and seeing if im doing it the right way and showing my somewhat compeleted room -.- ghetto but its been working so :p.
1st pic just self explanatory.
2nd pic she looks so much better bent over eh? ;)
3rd pic those spots are getting worse leaves are starting to brown its really only the fan leaves though nothing else.
4th wondering if this is a new top developing or what.
5th same as 2nd just looks better.
Any opinions/help is much appreciated I'm listening to whats been given to me! And about LST what I plan to do is just bend her like i have her now, then rotate her.. but my question is how many days should I keep it like this untill I switch cause I just want to do this on both sides then flower. And how much light would be needed I have 2 lights underneath that hood. And is the top of the plant getting enough light? Or is it fine. Again thanks for the much needed help/assistance :p might turn this into a journal since I seem to be posting pics everyday :p

You will want more lights. I'm not a CFL guy so not too sure how many, but check out the CFL club in the indoor growing section for ideas. As for right now I'd move that bare bulb closer to the top, or now side, of the plant.

As for the LST, I can't tell how far you bent it over, but check out the pic of what I did - I'm no expert, this is the first time I tried it, but it's working for me. Also you pick a side and stay with it, you don't bend one way and then another, if that is what you were talking about.

to be honest the lighting is ok for now .. getthem as close as possible without it burning them ..
the lst looks fine .. if it was younger it would bend a lot easier..
i would say just keep it there untill those side branches are looking a bit bigger..
its all personal preference realy.... in my opinion i would flower now (tbh she looks like she may have started?? the top of the plant looks like its in week 1 of flower to me .. but i could be wrong ..
you never know it could even be an autoflowering strain..

if it was my plant i would wait about 4 days after the photos where taken ..
2 days lst on each side or so should do it ..
it will come out nice after that..
remember sativas stretch a bit more than indicas during flower .. so expect between 2 to 3 times that size after about 3 weeks of flower..
as for the lighting during flower... the more the better... get a nice one the cfls on either side...

she still looks nice and healthy...

did you take a few of the lower fan leaves off ? just wondering..

i like to wait untill i can see the side shoots when i look from above .. when you flower they will bush out a lot anyway.. so dont worry about it too much .. after all its your first plant right ..
give it 4 days and flower... take notes of height and side growth etc... and you willl know when to flower next time to fit your grow box.

one more thing ... (im blabbering on i know sorry) have you been adding nutrience etc to the soil..... if not you could add a tiny bit (like a quarter the amount it tells you too) and see if it stops the spots...

Decided to say fuck it! So this morning as of 4:20am. I am going to 12/12 her and see what happens. So hopefully she is a she and nothing fucks up! Only thing that sucks is I dont have a timer :[

there not expensive.. mine was 2pound i think ..
most large supermarkets have one..

but she will be fine (lets hope sh eis a she)
mine shot up at about day 5.. good luck keep us updated.

Quick question could those white spots and the tips of leaves being yellow only fan leaves though. be due to underwatering? Cause when I turned the lights on this 10min ago by god was was she gorgeous and perky. and just dark dark green. one of my leaves stretched to a light that was off though and sat on it :[ so its a little damaged big problem or no worries?

i dont think its underwatering....
erm ..... if its the tips it could be too much nutrience but if that the case as it grow it will use up more and it should get back to normal or just stop getting any worse.. let me know im interested to see how she does...
100 percent girl right?? you should know by now

i'm unsure looks like pistils are starting to come in but this is occuring all over :/ If you look closely its the pigment is fading away. i gave her some miracle grow all purpose plant food only a little though cause for some reason she's holding ALOT of water I havent had to water her for a few days the soils been pretty moist. I move the lights higher up just in case she was getting burned.

ok well ..
i dont think its the watering .. but yeah leave it to dry right out .. i only watered every 3 days.. or when it was dry at finger depth..

also its not heat..
i dont think its nute burn ... i could be but i doubt it .. it usually starts at the tips and very edges.
it could be difficiant of something ... give it a few days and see hw it takes to the nutes .... how many leaves are like this?

My plant is doing beautiful BUT after bringing it back to life and making it feel better :[ I think it's a male :/. In between nodes looks like 3 balls are coming in per node. It's either male or hermy. If it turns out to be a hermy could I harvest it anyways? I only have one plant. Cause I see hairs starting to come in also off the sides of the nodes and in the bud thats forming. But are these 3 ball looking things in between each node a sign of male? :[

ok well .. that would suck if it was a male ..
if you see hairs.. white hairs on the nodes.. white hairs... which should be popping out of (sorry for the explanation) a raindrop shaped growth.. usually two hairs will grow from this..

if its a male there will be no hairs and this lump will grow into a cluster of lumps..

if you really do see hairs and balls (give it a few more days yet though, pollen wont be produced for a week at the earliest.. i bet you have 2 or 3 weeks though before its urgent) then you can cut these balls off... but make sure they are balls first..

heres some links to the early signs of male or female...
in these photos there female.. dont confuse the pistals with the green spike that grows at the nodes too.

an here are some early pics of males... not very clear but its really just the same as the female but without hairs.. eventually the male one will grow larger and into a ballshape.. if its just the odd ball then cut them off when they get larger.. dont be worried about pollen for about 2 weeks.

it turned out to be a male :[ started over. Doing 3 this time so hopefully 1/3 or 2/3 3/3 would be nice but wishful thinking :p 2 have already poped :D on day 2 of soil.
