Are you suggesting these 'unions" already exist? Maybe I am just dense, but am unaware of any, unless you mean to say groups, like compassion clubs, that advocate for their members. Take for instance the original club in Clare. They have been real active in helping people with section 8 defenses. Another recent example is the Mid Michigan Club that is scrambling to get patients certs, after having found that a doctor had his medical license expire at the first of the year and continued to write the damn things, and having those applications denied by LARA because. There is consensus that we will take up opposition to 4271, or for that matter any move to bone us, and I relish the opportunity. Some of us are geared to go with the moratorium/ordinance issue, and are waiting on the Supreme Court to rule in Ter Beek. Then there is the more mundane work of walking new patients through getting certified, authorized by the State, and competent to grow or to find a caregiver. Yeah Buck. This stuff really happens, and many good people are involved.
What rights have we lost that you ask that I magically recover? The few small changes that have been recently made are not so onerous to be very objectionable. Those bills as introduced, and suggested amendments to them during the legislative process, were much more restrictive, and would have been pretty ugly. Next time, and there will be a next time, that we throw down with these people I want to party with you, cowboy. If you mean to say court decisions, those that have been taken to their conclusion support the text of the law. It has not changed in any way to remove any right.
Do you have something else in mind? What will you contribute toward that in terms of time and effort? I don't give a fuck what you want to call it, as long as it gets the job done. There is no sense in hand wringing if you don't have the support you need in your area, but it is necessary to pull something together to work on your behalf. You are near Lake Michigan, are you not?
