the plans being cancelled simply don't have the minimum standard of coverage or don't cover all the things that the PPACA dictates from what i can understand. they'll most likely be simply replaced by a slightly different plan with a premium which may be the same or higher as before, although they won't be able to railroad people once they get sick anymore, or kick them off if they cost too much, and the like.

it's junk policies that they are replacing..the 55$ "value policy" no prescription, no hospitalization and high deductible and out of pocket..guaranteed to ruin you..the president has done everyone a favor by including 10 items all policies must now have whether they want to admit it or not..

Exactly, thanks for inadvertently helping with my point. Women should have the right to buy a plan that doesn't cover prostate cancer, or pool in a women's only plan, or not carry insurance at all, or have a plan that covers everything.

One way of saying it, it's her body, she should be free to make her own choice. Why do you hate women? Are you in the Texas state house?

Lot of people would love to have had a Blue Cross/ Blue Shield of Fl plan. I know 300,000 people who wish they could have kept it. Why do you get to decide their policy was junk? Think how selfish that is.

Besides, if it were cheaper and better to go on the exchange like 4 or 5 people in the world are still claiming, they could have moved there freely, or not moved there and kept their junk policy that doesn't cover as much but cost more. Why force the choice? If what you say is true, people will move voluntarily, O'care is a success, pubs lose a main talking point, win win.

You've just inadvertently pointed out exactly the reason why it is best for those who want to do one thing do that thing AND fund it, but they should not impose it on others that don't want it or don't use it.

In order to have peace and the opportunity for prosperity, one party telling the other what they must do, IE, "POLICY SETTING" is a very ineffective method of bringing the desired results about. All it ever bring is a struggle to impose will over others. Psychologically speaking, those that embrace that kind of "policy" are suffering from an inadequacy.

Health care costs aren't "steady," they're increasing as they always have. If you go by Kaiser's numbers, the increases in premiums approximately track the increases in healthcare costs.

What you meant to say was that the rate of increases has decreased or been steady, but that doesn't mean the same thing at all, does it?

It is one thing to lie on the Campain trail to the 1st term.

All the very bald face lies about keeping your insurance, came from a sitting US President.

And Bush and Reagan were blamed for being out of touch. But, Obama makes it a point of defense.
