Runtz try three

Cannabis, like many plants, prefers slightly acidic soil conditions. It tolerates a wide pH range (5.0-7.0) without symptoms of bronzing or interveinal chlorosis (yellowing of top leaves), but pH levels outside of the optimal range of 5.8 – 6.2 will limit growth

I say if your ph is outside these ranges and you have issues you can’t figure out, try to adjust your ph and see if your plants respond well. Mine showed change within 2-3 days after watering with ph’d water. I dont chase my ph, I simply add the same amount of ph down to my water everytime I water. Also, I think a lot of cannabis grown in soil is tolerant to higher or lower ph and perhaps my strain is not. I am Growing a og18xchernobyl (lime pheno from Tga) cross.

This crop has until Monday to perk. If it's not perked I'll toss it all start with dropping fresh seeds.

I don't know why I'm so bad at growing. I feel like a caricature posting on this website.
If they get off to a rough start, sometimes it can take forever for them to turn around. I suspect the bigger pots and fresh soil will help.

At the very least you've learned a lot this go-round, and improved your setup and environment. Next one will be better for sure.

@rmax , what has been your source for seeds? I don’t recall from the thread, but if you’re starting over, make sure you have good genetics!

I got clones from a grower who never has seeds and after I grew the plants I yielded about a pound of seeds, maybe more. I keep pulling from that seed source.

Maybe try better seeds? Ak bb has a $60 list and $100 list. At least you'd know what you are getting.
The guy who gave me the cuts is a good grower but he's not my contact so it was a one-off.

Capturing this moment I think everything but PH has been eliminated from the problem column.

I don't think the disaster these plants have become results from the seeds. Something else is a problem and the problem has to be fixed before I buy more seeds.

I would definitely get proper, feminized seeds before you start a new grow. That’s one variable you haven’t changed yet. I might even go auto, which in some ways are faster and easier (?). Keep it simple regardless. Good seeds. Good soil. Water when dry.

This thread is getting long. Many apologies.

At this point one fixture is at 100% and during lights on tent temp range has stabilized between 79°F and 80°F .

RH is set to 60% on/65% off 24/7.

What is the optimum lights off temp and how will this swing impact humidity?

Within 10 degrees of lights on temp, the closer the better.

If you got fem seeds but ended up with seeds are you sure those aren’t hermies seeds cause rumor is you’ll just grow new hermie plants
At the time all my plants kept seeding and I complained to this guy. So this guy mentioned seedy plants to this other guy who grows but never has seeds in his buds. The grower guy felt mercy for my story and wanted to make sure I had a female so passed on cuttings. I turned the cuttings to seed.

Separately, I think all seeds have the potential to be hermie.

The plants should be appreciating the bigger container. The ph conversation here sent me down some rabbit holes. I learned that as others have pointed out, soil should be a ph buffer to some degree. However, one possibility is also that the cups simply didn’t have enough soil to create an effective buffer, especially once they were filled out with roots. I would ph the input regardless, but 8ph going into those little cups could easily have been a problem. I’m learning from my own issues and those of others. Of course, nothing replaces experience, but research is a good laxative as experience grows.

I just listened to Garden Talk episode 51, with Mr Grow It interviewing the founder of BuildASoil. Loads of good information there. I listened in as I’m planning to try organic on my next go, but there’s all kinds of interesting info. Same guy is interviewed in the most recent episode, 104, “organics for beginners”, but the earlier episode was more on my level of understanding, I.e low but growing. Lots of useful info from Mr. Grow It’s guests in general.

Really hope this grow ends up producing for you. I wouldn’t start another with the same genetics. Order or buy something a sure track record, not friend of a friend.

The PM threads are freaking me out.

Now that I can control my environment is there anything I should/can do to prevent PM?
PM and mold usually happen when there are big environmental swings (temps and humidity), because people don't have good control over their environment. If you can keep temps and humidity within a small-ish range and keep airflow up (both circulation and exhaust) then you shouldn't really have to worry about PM.

Right now the tent has about a 9°F change between light on highs and light off lows. RH remains consistent.

I can tighten the temp within 5°F but don't know if that's a good or bad change.
