I have to deal with that same issue bro. My growroom is in my old city basement. The sad thing is, it effects my biggest buds because they manifest deep inside them. I've been cringing every time my big tops swell up real big and shame is, thats what we want !! What a bitch huh..? I mean, it never effects my smaller buds, just the biggest heaviest ones and that sucks. Some of it is my fault since I dont have the proper exiting ventilation. I dont have a scrubber and I cant dare blow it outside where I'm at. I need to get one and I think that would probably fix or help that problem a good deal. I should have done it by now, its a shame to lose even one big phat boy to that nasty smelling rot. Talk about ruining the party, bud rot sure does.
Totally hearing you there dude. Part of the reason I started training my plants was to try and inhibit the size of the colas. I personally would rather have the smaller foxtail sativa type flowers - never had bud rot in them. It's always the big colas that fill right in early then just keep getting dense that I get rot in. Untrained or untopped Kolossus can develop enormous main colas, had loads of trouble with them. I'm ok in the winter when my humidity is super low (average 20%-25% - max of 35%) - but this time of year, with southerly winds and rain I simply cannot control my environment. If I come out having only lost that tiny bit then I will feel like I've done ok. Happy to say the humidity is sitting at 40% right now. Hoping it stays that way for the next week (at least).

As a matter of interest. Just smoked some of the unaffected top, lovely effect, dreamy up high, proper sativa - and white ash without any flush whatsoever. Been giving her full nutes right up until the moment I chopped it too. Organic nutes really don't need flushing in good quality soil.

Mold is one of the many reasons I would rather have a bunch of medium sized tops instead of a giant cola and some lowers.

I have to say, all the flowers on all the girls are just amazing looking. All of them are foxtailing like crazy. The Jack influence really makes for top level bag appeal - great strain for breeding for that purpose is my initial thought.

100% germination from the Shackzilla 5pk. Just had three more pop up above the soil today - also got an Extrema that is coming up to a week old. This will be my Christmas flower run and will be documented in this thread.

I've also just finished harvesting Shiva Shack. She was starting to get difficult to manage with seriously heavy branches, drooping even with support. Combined with the tiny, albeit isolated patch of bud rot, I decided to pull her a little early. I think 9 weeks would have been perfect for her - but I'm happy to get through a grow this time of year without major bud rot. Hoping that by pulling this one girl early the air flow can be increased and the others can be left to go to full maturity.

Some pictures of Tall Hazey Shack from today - day 57 of 12/12. There are some leaf issues, due I believe to something of an imbalance in her feed, but she's so far along now, with only a couple of weeks left that I'm not worried about it. I put 10 litres of plain water through her, then another 10 litres with 15ml of 'AlgAMic' 15ml of 'Bloom' and 10ml of 'Cal/mag'. I will repeat this next feed. Such amazing smells coming off her; mango/honeydew melon, haze, and coffee all combined. Had a taster of her from week 7 and quick dry, pre cure, it still came through. Amazing plant, and a great example of Super Silver Haze.

I was lazy when harvesting Shiva Shack, and got no pictures. Enjoying some tester buds from her now. Really lovely energising yet spacey high. Very uplifting. Here are a couple of nug shots from the testers, covered in frost- I'll get some shots of the upper buds once I tuck into them.

Really strong skunk x northern lights sort of smell (slight floral edge to the skunk). With a cure this one will stink strong and cheesy.

Came across this earlier. Made me giggle good and hard. One of the less offensive religious vilifications to be perpetrated in the name of US imperialism in the last decade, and all the funnier for it.

Shackzilla is a cross of Super Silver Haze (Sativa) and Shack (Which is a cross os Jack {sativa} and Sheila {old school Indica}
Sheila skunk! LOL As in the Supreme God Sheila the Destroyer! Boom Sheila!

Totally hearing you there dude. :) Mine is at 55-60%, my RH even higher... Technically I could control it, but it would cost me more wattage than I use for light, or a dehumidifier larger than I have space. For the (smaller) commercial growers it's an issue here as well. Buying weed in a coffeeshop is a hit-and-miss situation already, but in the fall... I sure look forward to another winter grow.

Keep the temps above 20-21C at night and/or aim fans at the plants to reduce the risk of rot further. Warm air can hold more moist than cold air. Cold air and cool plants that come in contact with warm air (heated by the lamp) is what often causes more problems than a high humidity level itself. By using a fan that dew evaps/dries much faster.

The testers look very tasty, it's a shame RIU doesn't have a teleport feature, yet (I'm optimistic about the future  )

Top advise there Sativied. Nice one. I always used to think airing out the room was the main thing to prevent bud rot, and as a result caused fluctuations in temps which combined with consequent humidity spikes lead to perfect bud rot conditions. Now I simply close the windows in the room the flower tent is in 2 hours before lights off - vent through other rooms for that period. Then keep it warm in there over night. Hoping this staves off any further bud rot this run. Such great plants. I'm hoping the open, fox tail structure to the buds will help with air flow and maybe mean I'm lucky. Some picture below of the Jacks, the Tall Hazey Shack has huge, super dense colas and buds.

Some pictures of the two Jacks from today - day 62 of 12/12. I'm thinking another week until harvest for Carry On Jack (and Tall Hazey Shack), and another two weeks for Sativa Jack. I'm staying hyper vigilant though for signs of necrosis, and more importantly bud rot - any signs of leaves starting to fall off too freely, or some humidity spikes and I will consider harvesting earlier than that estimate. I put 30 litres of plain water through Carry on Jack, followed by 10 litres containing 15ml 'AlgAMic' and 10ml 'Bloom' - this should almost see her through, maybe 5ml of 'Bloom' in 10 litres of water for a final light feed prior to harvest. Sativa Jack got 15ml 'Bloom' 15ml 'AlgAMic' and 10ml 'Bloom Cal/Mag', to try and keep her healthy in this final week of swelling, prior to a week of ripening. Simply amazing looking buds. I love ones that look like this. Harder to keep looking pretty, bet worth the effort; like sweet lemon smelling frosted ice cream flowers. Beautiful.

Couple of shots of the new girls. An Extrema (Chemdog X Herijuana) which is 10 days old, and 3 more Shackzilla which are 6 days old. Transplanted the Extrema yesterday into her final 20 litre pot. The Chemdog pheno is supposed to stretch, but the Heri pheno doesn't at all from what I hear. My intention is to train all the plants again, so I wanted the Extrema to get a little boost in case she was a Heri pheno (I'm hoping for a Chemdog pheno), if it turns out she is a Chemdog pheno the training will mean I can cope with stretch. Besides, the stretch will likely not be as severe as any more Tall Hazey SSH phenos of Shackzilla that may be present amongst the new trio (or maybe new phenos I have not seen yet - so exciting to see). I will flower then after they have all vegged for a week under the 400W Metal Halide in the tent once it becomes free - will probably be 5 weeks veg for the Shacks and almost 6 for the Extrema.

Looking great as usually Bigby. Considering your increasing amount of experience with Sannie's strains, found anything yet that can match the SP? Should be available... let's check... oh, post from Sannie on dutch forum from 10 days ago:

"The Sugar Punches are ripening on the plants and will need a few more weeks. We hope to have the SP back in stick in about 5 weeks."

So should be available again within a months, my next grow is in 6-7 weeks. Nuff said :D

Thanks dude!

The Shackzilla looks to be almost the equal of the Sugar punch - may even sway towards being my favourite, time will tell. This first pheno that I've been smoking, the Shiva Shack pheno, is comparable to the Q-Bert/Stinky Girl phenos of SP that I grew. Far less sweet, and instead hashier in flavour (almost kushy). Been putting her through my crystal collector grinder and getting tons of crystals - great hash making pheno like the two SP phenos mentioned. Very nice effect, I feel like I prefer it to the SP tbh - less of a stoney wack, more of a hazey lift. Be interesting to try this pheno taken to 9 weeks - see if it's closer to the SP.

The Tall Hazey Shack looks like being comparable with the Tall Hazey SP but with the taste level and quality from the Big Bushy pheno of SP (only with mango/honeydew melon rather than the pineapple/grapefruit of the SP). Hoping the effect will be more sativa than the SP.

This early Shiva Shack is superb. Far less stoney than the SP, but equally strong. Real day dreamer stimulant herb. I find myself going to have a couple of bowls and then only having one and being happy. Mad dry mouth though, you need a drink with you at all times - mate described it as giving one 'concrete mouth'. Can't wait to try the other pheno (and the Jacks) - taking her at the weekend.

Tall Hazey Shack is looking just crazy. My mate saw her today for the first time and made hilarious noises. She has filled in like mad. Has bud all the way down the very bottom of the trunk. Probably taking her at week 10 on Monday. Could probably go another week, maybe two - but I don't like CBD (particularly in lovely hazey beauties like her). The buds are already super dense though, by week 11/12 they would be stupidly heavy. Probably 5oz on her I reckon now, by week 12 she could pull 6+.
