ight I can't stand it anymore. you can't hold out on us. I'm literally willing to suck a dick to get your...errr seeds...n I'm borderline homophobic. www.highlysativied.com domain, lesss get it. When are you opening your store?
I was thinking "Sativied Seeds" and then depict the S's as small lightning bolts like fast flowering strains sort of thing... turns out some organization in Germany already has that as a logo

I still have a long way to go to turn what's currently basically breeding stock into a strain. When I started I knew it was going to be a long term project, want to finish it before sharing the results. Which probably won't be through my own domain or my own seed bank though, I already own a company on this address and am not in a legal state sort of speak. Growing more than 5 plants is risky already, will have to stay underground at least until things go in the right direction again here.

Want to do some lab tests this year testing for hermie genes specifically, and then create some fem seeds with full females and then have those tested again. If those turn out good I could create a few extra...

Well... I made some comments about, or better said against, sending testers prematurely (basically before it's finished) a week or so ago in the strain review forum so... we'd have to call them review freebies or trial versions (screeners?) :D I learned a lot over the past year which also gives me idea for new breeding projects, so honestly I would like to get this one over with asap. It's unfortunately a process that's not suitable for rushing. At this point I'm still stabilizing the two lines I want to use to create the eventual hybrid I have in mind (which I will test too).

The CHxCH I'm growing out now is just breeding stock, the CH is one of DNA Genetics main strains sold as suitable for breeding (short flower time, barely 8 weeks) but no matter how many generations I take it further, and regardless of breeding in whorled phyllotaxy, it's not mine to share. It's also has a let's say "interesting" history. Two other large mj forums who have their own online seedshop thing going on supposedly banned them from the site because DNA genetics claims CH is mexican sativa x o haze but those sites say it's a C99 knock off. As you can read in a thread on this forum about one of those forums people got banned for just mentioning Cannalope Haze.

I keep a breeding journal with more detailed info about whorled phyllotaxy at one of those forums, and discussed it a little at the other, so I guess that's in the past now. I don't really know what the truth is (one of the CH phenos, the compact one, does look a lot like C99 though...). I like what DNA Genetics brings to the table and either way, I can't say I was in anyway disappointed hearing it's possibly a C99 cross or C99 itself. It's frosty, and finishes in about 8 weeks, and it's clearly stronger than average. It would however make it imo double-lame if it were a C99 knockoff and then I release a knock off of that knock off if you know what I mean.

I'll probably be making several crosses with both the P line (chunk x CH) and the CH-W line (cannalope haze whorled) once those are ready though. There are some clones being shared for many years in my area to supply a few coffeeshops, amongst the few I occasionally buy and smoke for some variation, and I received several offers of people wanting to send me clones and seeds so I hope ya'll still interest in screeners by the time I'm ready.

I'll post some pics to make up for all that text...

Still a bit cold at night so purp stems but apart from that doing well so far.

Internode and phyllotaxy comparison:

Regular non-alternating:

Regular alternating:

Whorled phyllotaxy (later whorler) - alternating:

Later whorler, non alternating (stretcher, bent main stem 90 degrees)

Strong/early whorler, alternating/spiral:

And last, but not least, whorled phyllotaxy (non alternating)

If this plant stays on track... I've said several times tri-whorled doesn't necessarily lead to more bud but not only does it have those 3 pompons on each node, they are visible larger than all others. The closest one is the one is the first internode pic above, which is very similar but regular, so is a nice one to compare. They are the two behind each other that stand out the most, pic from yesterday, reg in front, wp behind it:

looking great as always :)
i remember that DNA CH/c99 drama when it first kicked off quite a few years ago
your looks like it has fairly broad leaves, are those pics CHxCH or something else ?

only grown c99 once, from mosca seeds, even those were nice
energetic high and fruity/pine taste
got mostly thin leaf plants that looked like smaller skunk1 plants
they stayed quite short for how sativa they looked leaf wise

peace

You said it smelled of sweet horse shit and beer. I have never wanted to taste horse shit more than right now!
  That was about the EM lactobacteria stuff, some bennies brewsel based on fermenting milk and molasses or something like that. I decided not to use it.

The CH phenos I used had a grapefruit-ish taste, but dark/dank. A hazy undertone. Not spicey haze like SSH or amnesia.

The Chunk is pine-ish, skunky, and with a hint of pineapple.

There's variation in the F2 of course, in the F1, as in the combi of those above I described the taste as dark tropical wood. I'm trying to keep the pine in the P line and cross that with the CH line again eventually to end up with something similar again. I found a very sweet skunk pheno in the F2 and the goal originally was to cross sweet skunk with CH so I have multiple options. The main thing I want to do in terms of taste and smell is avoid selecting the CH out of the cross again. Contrary to what the names and lineage may imply, the chunk is tall and stretchy and the CH is compact and fast. I aim for the latter, so I prefer a mix of the tastes, the chunk's pine/pineapple, or something not like either parents.

These are the CHxCH indeed. The male parent is the quad I used for the other crosses too. Used multiple females but the one in the group shot above with the broadest leaflets had another (more hazy taste) pheno as mom than the rest. The others vary a little, but in general they start out broad and end up quite slender, some more than others.

While I do try to spot sativa-dom based on leaves shape, it's a very misleading trait. Technically genes are linked to only less than 10% of the other genes (those on the same chromosome, and even those can crossover), and a plant with very slender sativa dom leaflets can be, after crossing for several generations, over 90% indica dom. I do hope to find a hazy pheno in this batch

That does describe the compact pheno of CH pretty well too, and partly why it was suspicious I guess.

After the initial seed run I ran clones from the CHxCH females to fill up the jars, covered here: https://www.rollitup.org/t/supercropping-and-canopy-control.413359/page-62 including some pics of the compact vs hazy pheno.

Compact CH:

More hazy structure pheno

The current CHxCH I'm running is based on these two above X a quad-whorled male from the same generation.

Yeh i agree, i have experienced this too, i have grown belladona and it produced short very wide leaf plants that look very indica
but once the buds come they are typical fluffy skunk buds

i grew a pheno of tga the flav, it grew pretty thin leaves looked like jack herer in structure
but the buds were very kush like

you really do have to wait for the buds to know for sure unless its a pure sativa or pure indica

Clearly the case with the AAO plant in my previous run as well. Most slender sativa leaves, but indica like golfball buds from the chunk. Weird one, dried buds looked like chunk, taste like CH, but had a more body stoned effect.

It's fun to imagine what things can look like later this year for now I first have to finish this run. It's been going well so far but I'm still a little worried about the pot size. I went with square pots initially so I could put many close together, should have potted up to round pots a tad larger than the current square ones (roughly 2 gallons). I need to water them at least once a day now.

Tallest are in front and in the back. Regular one in the middle^, which is same as the left one in next pic. Right in next pic is the best tri. Nice to do a round without topping and cropping, seems I spent more time on that than I realized.
