What I never understood, is what the hell was she talking about? Herbert missed an important by-line, or I did.

I think a bit of reference to WTF was in order. But I've read all of Herbert, all of Dune, all of Herbert-son's Dune and there is not one other reference to the the box test or who or what fails it. Shapeshifters? Clones? The needle, the Jabbar is only mentioned one other time I can remember.
