I clear the underside in veg a couple times, then also in flower at about three weeks is about average I think.
I think I had to do it again at like 6 weeks also last time

It can get awful jammed up if you dont keep up on it.

You can tell whats not going to reach the net, no reason to keep it imo.

It just wilts away under there and causes a mess
Yeah just hit 3 wk and cleaned undercarriage

Which strain would you recommend for the techniques you spoke of in this post...:?:
I wouldn't know where to start. Hundreds of strains would do fine but hundreds of others wouldn't. You want something described as tall and branchy. Short bushy Indicas are not suitable tho many indica dominant strains have sativa growth patterns and would work OK. Plants described as being tall bushes for outdoor growing would work great in a ScroG as well.

So many to choose from.

You'd do better by setting up the screen while vegging and get rid of the short stuff ASAP. Then the plant isn't wasting energy trying to grow that stuff in the shade and can put it's efforts into growing what counts. I leave a few small branches for clones or pollinating if I want to cross a plant with another.

You want the lower stuff gone before flipping to flower for sure.

If its a squat plant its a squat plant

I agree with @OldMedUser on strain selections

Short indies imo favor a single cola grow :)
Or just fimmed

If you try to scrog a squat plant you usually end up with golfball nugs rather then colas but thats just my exp others may vary

So what do you think @OldMedUser

Could you overcome some of that bushy indica problem by vegging under hps instead of mh?

Or do you think it be too little a difference?
With training and the right light any plant can be scrog.
My 315cmh are sweet for just that. I don’t like sativas, I do grow them but love Kush .

The two plants in the back are my PBK and it would be considered a short squat indica Kush
With experience the right gear and training , super cropping, you can do it to anything.
But it’s easier to use plants that want to branch.

I'm not at all sure. Keeping the light further away will cause any plant to stretch so worth a try I guess. I have often kept plants in a semi-dormant state by reducing light and food so they continue to grow slowly then you can make adjustments to your time line for better use of your grow room(s).

A really bushy plant will not likely be able to be manipulated enough to make it suitable for ScroG tho.

Runners, you can see how many branches I have ditched.

Those main branches will be 8ft
When Im done.

Im sending these two all the way to the left of the screen
While sending the two on the right
All the way left.

I also have one mid screen going 360

Its going to be a stupid ling veg but im just trying to load the screen.

Next run I will use 6 plants instead of 5.

I went to many, now to few.
I think in my 8x5 6 is the sweet spot.

15 gallon bags. Sour d

Just a little follow up on my scrog
I think I'm gonna have gaps in the middle and in the corners
Here's a pic befor I tucked

Iv been pruning a little each night hoping I won't shock them

Here's a pic after I did some tucking, fuck it's hard to fill all the gaps and keep them at a pretty close even height haha

Any constructive criticism? Haha

Its tricky finding the sweet spot between,
How many plants
What strain
The placement of the plants
Exactly when to flip.

Just do your best and I would recommend sticking with the same strain for a few rounds so you are familiar with how it stretches.

My .02 is any strain worth growing is worth scrogging ;) i havent found a strain yet that didnt do better when scrogged, there may be some out there that dont scrog well, but i wouldnt grow em 2x

As to constructive critisium, i dont like string scrogs, i dont think they work that well vs wire or bamboo. I think wire is best. They sell fence wire with the perfect size holes that are around 2x4 inches. Plus its so much faster to set up.

But yours looks good man you will be happy with the results. That hole on the side is just part of the learning like coldsmoke said
